The television series, which aired on Disney, is a spin-off of the original film, Lilo & Stitch. Cosgrove was also rewarded her second major role in a theatrical film, when she cast alongside Drake & Josh co-star Drake Bell in the comedy film Yours, Mine and Ours, in which she portrayed the character Joni;[18][19] the film performed mildly at the box office. Starting in 2011, McCurdy began writing articles in the Wall Street Journal. McCurdy composed an article titled “Off-Camera, My Mom’s Fight With Cancer”, that was published in the Wall Street Journal on June 11, 2011. It describes in de- tail her mother Debra’s on-going battle with cancer and how her family is coping with the situation.
