АSU ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE OF SUCCESS 3 ASTRAKHAN STATE АSU UNIVERSITY MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE UNIVERSITY: ASU is the largest scientific and educational complex, the only classical university in the region that was founded ABSOLUTE by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The Master’s degree students of the School participate in the WIPO Pearl project. The School students take traineeships at the Linguistic Support Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow and the United Nations (UN Office in Geneva, UN Office in Vienna), in the Directorates-General for interpretation and translation of the European Commission and the European Parliament (Brussels), in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (Paris) and in the World Intellectual Property Organization (Geneva). INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS OF THE UNIVERSITY CASPIAN HIGHER SCHOOL OF INTERPRETING AND TRANSLATION The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation is a joint project of ASU, Directorate-General for Interpretation of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences of the European Parliament, implemented under the support of the Astrakhan Government. The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation implements a training programme for interpreters and translators, working with EU and Russian languages, as well as with the languages of Central Asia, the Caspian region and CIS. The linguists-to-be are trained in 15 languages plus programmes in Hindi and Turkmen are being introduced.
