The noms were announced July 14, and include several for the lesbian adult film studio. Winners are determined by panel and online voting at the NightMoves Awards website. One vote per IP is allowed. Last year, Girlfriends harnessed the fan choice award for Best Ongoing Series with their signature episodic ‘Women Seeking Women’ at the 25th Annual NightMoves Awards. This year Girlfriends has a chance to take home the honor of Best Production Company. Also included in the list of Girlfriends Films nominations are: Best Girl/Girl Performer for Girlfriends contract star Prinzzess [Felicity Jade], Best Star Showcase (Aspen Rae Experience 2), and two nominations in the category Best All Girl Release (Mother Daughter Exchange Club 51 and Women Seeking Women 155). See the complete list of nominees and vote here: Night Moves Awards THINGS WOMEN CAN DO TO EACH OTHER THAT I recently watched Hannah Gadsby’s stand-up MEN CAN’T DO. set titled “Nanette” on Netflix. Hannah Gadsby is a comedian from Australia who identifies as a lesbian. She shares the truth in a comical tale about some of the things lesbians deal with from our “coming out” moments, to being mis- gendered as more of butch looking lesbians - and overall stretches the powerful truth about growing up and being ashamed about who we are and the things we can and can’t do. I won’t get too heavy into that, but I will definitely say that this stand-up comedian had me laughing pretty hard at the truth of what we deal with. As I started to write this article, staring at the title, I couldn’t help but think of a punchline she gutted out - mentioning how crazy it is that people act like men and women are such different creatures. Gay or straight, it’s as if boys are from Jupiter and girls are from Mars. As I continue thinking about this punchline and the title of this article, I can’t help but think, “There really isn’t much more that women can do to each other that a man can’t do.” This, I’m sure, will get a rise out of some. Followed with, “why not just date a man then?” And to answer you truthfully, I don’t want to. Just because there isn’t much more we can do to each other that a man wouldn’t be able to do, does not mean I want to have a sex with a man. I hate to break it to you, fellas, but a woman can still give me a better orgasm without question. A woman’s touch still has me feeling more aroused than a man would be able to. And honestly, it doesn’t matter what you can or can’t do. You might be really good at what you do, but If I’m not attracted to you, you’ll be portrayed as boring every time. It makes me question why men chase women they know like other women so much - even if you catch us, we’ll still say you’re boring.
