Taboo in the Bajau Torosiaje Tribe Society, Pohuwato District, Gorontalo Province
TABOO IN THE BAJAU TOROSIAJE TRIBE SOCIETY, POHUWATO DISTRICT, GORONTALO PROVINCE Nur Aina Ahmad IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo Eka Sartika Universitas Negeri Gorontalo ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the taboo concepts that are still valid as a legacy of customs, traditions, and culture of the Bajau people in Torosiaje Village, Pohuwato Regency, and their application in everyday life. In this study, the taboo is any form of prohibition in the form of actions or words used as the cultural heritage of the Bajau Torosiaje people from generation to generation. This study is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions as sources of information and reference, especially regarding the Bajau people’s traditions. The deeds taboo, which is still preserved as a legacy of tradition and culture in the Bajau Torosiaje community, Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, is the community’s social and moral control in their daily behavior. These prohibitions govern all contexts of community life from birth to death. These taboos can be in the form of prohibitions that must be avoided by a pregnant woman or restrictions that fishers must obey while at sea. It is quite reasonable, considering the Bajau Torosiaje community’s activities, which cannot be separated from the sea as a place to live and as a source of livelihood. Language or speech taboo includes all prohibitions aimed at controlling the use of diction or words, which, if violated, are believed by the Bajau Torosiaje people to bring harm. The language taboo in the Bajau Torosiaje community can be the prohibition of mentioning individual animals’ names or mentioning the names of demons and spirits. -

Data collection techniques were conducted through indepth interview, passive participation observation, and Focused Group Discussion (FGD). Data collection was also done through literature study by collecting documents related to this research topic. The results showed that the Bajo tribe who currently live and settle in Tomini Bay is believed to be moving from the bay of Bone, South Sulawesi. They ran the ocean to form settlements in Tomini Bay. The Bajo tribal settlement in Tomini Bay was originally called Toro Siajeku which in 1901 was inaugurated by the Dutch Colonial Government into a village. The inauguration of the settlement which has now changed its name to Torosiaje Village is the momentum of the solidifying of sedentary life for the Bajo Tribe community in Tomini Bay. This research was conducted to determine the influence of management capabilities by focusing on the implementation of strategies on IMK business performance. This research was conducted in micro small business (IMK) food industry in Gorontalo who is also the owner and manager of small and medium embroidery industry at PT Jawa Timur. The method used in this study is a survey method with a research population is a businessman / owner of IMK with a sample number of 377 people the method of sampling research is Non-Probability with purposive sampling techniques. The research uses quantitative approach with PLS (Partial Least Square) analysis tool. The results showed that 1). Management capabilities have a significant impact on business strategy and directly affect business performance; 2). This research employed qualitative approach with the aim of tracing and analyzing social harmony from various ethnici- ties existing in society and government policy Pohuwato Regency. The instruments of the study included data, facts and concepts that were relevant. This study aimed to see the problem of segregation within societies by primordial groups to solve ethnic integration in which ethnic groups are bound together. There are two regional policies (1) controlling inter-ethnic relations and constructing the model of Gorontalo com- munity as an important element of social, cultural and political aspect which uphold openness and toler- ance; and (2) using deliberative public space in order to achieve harmonious atmosphere between pub- lic (community) with the government in protecting the diversity. Therefore, it can be concluded that ethnic communities residing in Pohuwato Regency are bound to unite by the desire to improve new and better lives between immigrants and local communities. This desire becomes a symbol of unity based on mutual respect for different values to achieve the integration or unity of multicultural ethnic groups. -

Nowadays, land management requires a paradigm recondition towards wise behavior in utilizing natural resources. An alternative that can be consistently applied to support this is the application of agroforestry patterns. The purpose of this service is to provide counseling, training, and assistance to the community in agroforestry development. This activity was carried out in Dulamayo Barat Village, Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency. The method used is focused discussion and group training. The procedural activities are divided into three stages, namely planning (observation and socialization), implementation (counseling, training, and fostering productive activities), and evaluation stages (reviewing the participation of agroforestry developing communities). Read Full License Page 1/24 Abstract Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) as a budget source for government was eroded by Covid-19 pandemic. The decline in the PNBP value of nationally results in low budget absorption at work unit level. This study aims to describe the impact caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic on budget absorption of PNBP in within Regional Oce of the Gorontalo Province National Land Agency. This research uses descriptive quantitative research. The results showed that the Covid-19 pandemic had a negative impact in terms of budget absorption where budget absorption rate in third quarter did not reach the target of 60% so that the budget absorption performance value of all work units was below 80, which means that budget absorption was in poor and very bad criteria less.
