Every Tasmanian needs access to an affordable and secure home. The Tasmanian Government can help you build, buy or rent a home by: • helping buyers finance a new home by reducing their deposit or loan amount, through HomeShare or Streets Ahead • reducing stamp duty and land tax for buyers, including pensioners downsizing their home • encouraging property owners to rent out homes longer term, and to low-income Tasmanians, through a range of incentives • making it quicker and easier to plan and build new homes, including converting shop top space into a home.
