Hotel accommodation. Day 2 Islamabad. Tours of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Preparation of necessary documents for visiting the border area. Briefing at the Ministry of tourism. Night in hotel. Day 3 Flight Islamabad - Skardu. If the weather is non-flying, moving Islamabad–Chilas. Moving to Chilas 12 hours. The road passes through corn and rice fields, tea plantations, through Thakot, further along the Indus valley. Overnight in hotel. Day 4 Chilas-Skardu. Transfer to Skardu (2350 m), 9 hours, the road continues along the Indus, 50 km overlooks the eight-thousander Nanga Parbat (8125m). Overnight at the hotel. Day 5 Transfer Skardu - Ascoli. Luggage loading in jeeps, moving 6-7 hours to Ascoli (Askoly 3048 m). Overnight in tents. Day 6-13 Ascoli - Jula (Johla-3200 m) - Paju (Paiju - 3750 m) - Urdukus (Urdukus - 4200 m) - Goro 2 (Goro2 - 4500 m) - Concordia (Concordia -4650 m) - Base camp (5100 m). Crossing through an arid, almost desert terrain, across the rivers to the Jula camp 3200 m. The next day we will arrive in Paiju (Paiju 3785m), the last oasis in front of the Karakorum glacier. One day of rest for porters and preparing food for several days in advance. The next day, transfer to the Baltoro glacier in Urdukas, where we will enjoy a unique view of Trango. Go past the Muztag Tower to the Concordia Plateau, a place where you can enjoy magnificent views of K2, Gasherbrum IV and Broad Peak from the Baltoro Glacier and Goldwin Austin Glacier. On the last day, we will reach the base camp on the Goldwin Austin Glacier. All overnight in tents. Day 14-40 Climbing to K2. We will have enough time to climb K2. Three high-altitude camps are equipped with the help of our Pakistani porters. Camp I at an altitude of 5900m, Camp II and Camp III at an altitude of 6900m and 7400m. First, the climb goes along the flat, long clefts of the glacier. The camp is located at the foot of the Southwest Ridge, also known as a banana ridge. We will follow along a clearly defined ridge through rough terrain, along the railing. Then along the Southwest wall to the Southwest wall. We will follow until we reach the South ridge, where there will be camp II at 6900m. This section is one of the most technically demanding when climbing K2. The route will be equipped with a railing in order to guarantee a safe return. From Camp II we will follow the Southwest Wall until we reach Camp III at an altitude of 7400. Having passed the huge rocky pyramid, we will reach the eastern side of the peak K2. Then we will find ourselves on the eastern ridge, which will lead us to the peak of K2, which offers stunning views of the top of Karakorum. Note: we cannot guarantee the installation of Camp III at an altitude of 7400. It can be difficult to pitch tents due to strong winds and lack of snow. If it is impossible to establish the third camp at an altitude of 7400m, a camp of 7100m will be created and the assault of the peak can occur from there. This strategy has proven effective several times. Day 41-48 The base camp – Gondogoro – Khushe – Skardu – Islamabad pass. To shorten the return trip, we will go through the Gondogoro Pass to the Khushe Valley. Then we will return to the Concordia plateau. Crossing the Baltoro Glacier, we will reach Ali Camp, which is located at the foot of Chogolis (also called the “bride’s peak”). We will cross the Gondogoro Glacier at night, due to the increasing danger of rockfalls in the daytime, the descent from the pass should take place as soon as possible. After our long stay on the glacier, descent to the Khushe valley. Perhaps we will make one day of rest for porters. Introduction In Pakistan, the National Tourism Policy and the National Conservation Strategy emphasize the crucial interdependence between tourism and the environment. Tourism has a significant impact upon the physical and social environment, while, at the same time, tourism's success depends on the continued well-being of the environment. Because the physical and social environment constitutes the resource base for tourism, tourism has a vested interest in conserving and strengthening this resource base. Hence, conserving and strengthening biodiversity can be said to hold the key to tourism's success. The interdependence between tourism and the environment is recognized worldwide.     Glaciers in Pakistan | World General Knowledge With 7,253 known glaciers, including 543 in the Chitral Valley, there is more glacial ice in Pakistan than anywhere on Earth outside the polar regions, according to various studies. Those glaciers feed rivers that account for about 75 percent of the stored-water supply in the country of at least 200 million. But as in many other parts of the world, researchers say, Pakistan’s glaciers are receding, especially those at lower elevations, including here in the Hindu Kush mountain range in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Among the causes cited by scientists: diminished snowfall, higher temperatures, heavier summer rainstorms and rampant deforestation. 1) Baltoro Glacier The glacier at 63km in length is one of the largest land glaciers on Earth. It can be accessed through Gilgit-Baltistan region. The glacier gives rise to the Shigar River. 2) Batura Glacier At 53 km in length, the Batura Glacier is up there with the biggest in the world. It lies in the Batura Valley in the Gojal region of Gilgit Baltistan. 3) Biafo Glacier The Biago Glacier is 67kms long and the third biggest land glacier in the entire world. Mango, Baintha and Namla are campsites set up near the glacier and can be accessed through the Askole Village of Gilgit-Baltistan. 4) Panmah Glacier Located in the Central Karakoram National Park, Gilgit-Baltistan, 5) Rupal Glacier It is the source of the Rupal River and lies in the Great Himalayas.     K-2 BC Gondogoro La Trek Concordia situated in the North West End of Baltoro glacier centered by Abruzi and Goodwin Austin glacier, in an alleviation of 4600m. Concordia is surrounded by the second world highest peak K-2 (8611M), and the other peaks as well likely, Broad Peak (8047mm, Gasherbrum I 8-68M, G-II, 8035, G-IV, 7925M, Saltoro Kangri 7742m, Chogolisa I 7668M, Chogolisa-II 7654M, Baltoro Kangri 7463m, Sia Kangri 7442m, Masherbrum Groups 7821m, Muztagh Tower 7272m, and the Baltoro Cathedral of Uhli and Trango groups from 5500m to 6700m. The journey starts with a flight from Islamabad to Skardu in Gilgit-Baltistan. From the plane you will see spectacular views of Karakoram including Nanga Parbat. After several nights in Skardu we take jeep transport to the road head of the trek at Askole. Mount K2 at an altitude of 8,611m is the second highest mountain in the world. It is a steep mountain and the climbing routes are technical. The first ascent was in 1954 by an Italian xpeditione following the Abruzzi spur. The trekking route up the Baltoro glacier has superb mountain views all the way up to Concordia. Baltoro glacier in the Karakoram, Pakistan, is one of the world’s largest valley glaciers. It drains an area of about 1500 km2 and is >60 km long. In 2004 an Italian/German expedition carried out a glaciological field program on the ablation zone of the glacier, focusing on the ablation conditions and the dynamic state of the glacier. As Baltoro glacier is a debris-covered glacier, ice ablation also depends on the debris properties. Stake measurements of ice ablation and debris cover in combination with meteorological data from automatic weather stations close by have been used to determine the local melt conditions. Results from these calculations have been combined with an analysis of different classes of surface cover and information about precipitation, using remote-sensing techniques, in order to calculate mass fluxes for the upper part of Baltoro glacier. The dynamic state of the glacier has been investigated by GPS-based surface velocity measurements along the stake network. A comparison of these short-term measurements during the melt season with surface velocities computed from feature tracking of satellite images shows a high seasonal variability of the ice motion.
