Executive summary College of Engineering Trikaripur was established in the year 2000 under the auspices of the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE), an autonomous society under Government of Kerala. College of Engineering Trikaripur is a fast growing Engineering college in North Kerala. It offers undergraduate courses, leading to the award of B.Tech degree of the Cochin University of Science And Technology(CUSAT) and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The College of Engineering Trikaripur (CET), Cheemeni was started with a mission to produce technically competent engineers in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology and Civil Engineering. The college has a current capacity to train 270 students every year. The college is poised for growth in the years to come. Adequate infrastructure and laboratory facilities have been created over the years to meet the requirements for the existing curriculum. All the departments widened their horizon by setting up new labs, modernizing existing laboratories, initiating research activity in thrust areas, by organizing International and National Conferences, Research Colloquiums, organizing and participating in Faculty Development Programmes, attending pedagogical training and introducing new teaching and learning methods. These activities brought out considerable improvement in the quality of teaching, learning and research, besides fetching valuable resources in the spin-off. The college campus is entirely Wi-Fi enabled, and the seminar halls and class- rooms use projectors for audio-visual aid. The Institute organizes many guest lectures and industrial visits for students to have a better knowledge of the field. The institution bagged 3 University ranks during the TEQIP-II period. College of Engineering Trikaripur gives an extended training to its students for placement cell and has an impressive placement record, and has collaborated with many companies for campus recruitment. College of Engineering Trikaripur, Cheemeni Page 6 TEQIP Phase II Project Completion Report 2012-2017 Institute has separate hostel facility for boys and girls, and transport facility is available for Day-scholars. College of Engineering Trikaripur provides students with rich extracurricular activities. The Institute organizes events as a platform for students to exhibit their skills. College motivates students to participate in sports, arts and also undertakes social service campaigns.
