Follow Darkwing Duck as he makes his way from obscurity back into the limelight as the premiere crime fighter in town! These comics are based on Disney's Darkwing Duck television show from the 90s. The Plot The stories in Darkwing Duck are perfect! They are very similar to the stories from the original television show and all of the old characters, good and bad, come back to join in the fun. The stories are full of action and are pretty hilarious. There are tons of snide remarks, witty jokes, and references to real social issues that Disneys Darkwing Duck Treasury Volume 1 get so much more than a simple tale of supervillain vs superhero. Every character is written just like their original counterparts and, if you used to watch Darkwing Duck, you'll be delighted with each turn of the page! The Artwork I love the artwork! It's bright, colorful and really fun. The comic looks just like the show and all of the characters have a distinct look and feel. Literally every page could be framed and put up on your wall. I was obsessed with Darkwing Duck as a kid. I had a Darkwing Duck bank and I wanted to marry him! It was one of my very favorite shows. Seeing this comic book really brought me back to a different time, a time when I got to sit around and play make believe all day. The story and artwork is very nostalgic Disneys Darkwing Duck Treasury Volume 1 me and really allows me to remember something beloved from my childhood. The Verdict I love this comic! And where there there is Ducktales, there's my favorite series featuring a Duck - Darkwing Duck. When I discovered this older comic collection on Kindle, it was a no-brainer purchase. While ultimately an unfinished storyline such a shame this was a thoroughly enjoyable collection of Darkwing stories that really took me back to the old cartoon, but with more continuity. All of the major storylines Ever since the new Ducktales series was announced, I've been reliving a bit of my Disney afternoon. All of the major storylines share a continuity and a lot of plot points from one feed into the others in a way that the cartoon series couldn't do. Pretty much every major villain makes an appearance at some point, a few new characters hit the scene, and of course - Darkwing and his Family fighting crime together. Fun, funny, heartwarming and full of more alliteration than even Darkwing can keep up with, this is one addition to the Darkwing canon I'm glad I got my hands on. Apr 27, Gillian rated it it was amazing Shelves: owngraphic-novels. Darkwing Duck was my favorite superhero as Disneys Darkwing Duck Treasury Volume 1 child. It's been years Disneys Darkwing Duck Treasury Volume 1 I've watched the show though so I needed to refamiliarize myself with a lot. The stories told were so much fun! I loved all the different Darkwings and the old villains coming back. But its heart remained the same as always. Please Disney, reboot this next. Jul 17, Ron Turner rated it really liked it. I grew up on Disney Afternoon Disneys Darkwing Duck Treasury Volume 1. Read it for nostalgia. Figured it would be silly. Instead I was surprised to see that it not only captured the magic of the original cartoon but carried forward the story, basically serving as a new season. Apr 02, Bluelily3 rated it it was amazing Shelves: comics-manga. So glad he's BACK. My childhood just gave me a big 'ol hug. Now and forever! Feb 04, Al rated it it was amazing Shelves: humordisneygraphic-novelschildrens-awesomeness. Classic, retro fun with tons of amazing Easter eggs. The stories were done extremely well in the tradition of the old cartoons. Loved it! Mar 19, Michael Dennos rated it really liked it. Really well done! As a lifelong Darkwing fan, this collection had all the energy, humor and fun that the cartoon had. May 18, Nick Jones rated it liked it Shelves: graphic-novels. Animation and comic books are very different forms of media, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Taking Darkwing Duck to comics enabled storytelling on a larger scale than a cartoon's production budget and format would allow, providing for massive crowds, varied set pieces, widespread destruction, overarching storylines, etcetera. If these tools were used to good effect, this compilation could have taken Darkwing in some interesting directions. Unfortunately, there's little to Animation and comic books are very different forms of media, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.
