Lot 49 49 CRICKET CLUB: Army trunk from WWI, inscribed on top 'LIEUt W.FLINTOFT, A.I.F., 58th BATTn', one handle missing, otherwise good condition for a military trunk. [William Flintoft played football for Melbourne 1909-12 and St Kilda 1913, and served as President of the 1947-49. He played for the 1909 to 1927, and served on the MCC Committee from 1937 until his death in 1951. During WWI he served in the First Australian Imperial Force as a Second Lieutenant in the 58th Battalion, and saw action in Egypt, France and Belgium.
