The New Pitt Stadium THE NEW PITT STADIUM Pitt Stadium The most intimidating CAMPUS venue in college football Pitt Stadium Athletic Dept. Lockers Classrooms Tower Fraternities Sutherland Drive This graphic representation of The New Pitt Stadium illustrates the positioning of the stadium with major landmarks. The additional Athletic Offices and Lockers would be connected to the Petersen Events Center. VA Hospital Tower Fraternities Trees Hall The Pete Field Suites Athletic Office / “Panther Perch” / Locker Rooms Stands This Aerial Topographic View delineates all major development structures with The New Pitt Stadium. The ability to traverse Robinson Street with new technology structural steel behind the New Pitt Stadium will afford both auto and truck access, an expanded parking footprint and game day logistical flow for media, concessions and fan egress/ingress. As illustrated, both the Petersen Complex and Tress Hall will be able to become a part of this complete stadium footprint area. The New Pitt Stadium will have between two and three levels and weather protection over seating. The New Pitt Stadium will resemble the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Luxury club / Suites / Media Structure The New Pitt Stadium Building would become a condensed, luxury club / suites / media structure and formidable stadium in this design. With Pitt Fans close to the field and intensely cheering for The Panthers, no other college football stadium would have a greater home field advantage. Panther Perch Cost Center Locker Rooms In addition, home locker rooms next to the Cost Center, The “Panther Perch” Club and Luxury Suites built above the Cost Center completes the first phase of development of The New Pitt Stadium. Luxury Suites and Offices Lockers, Cost Center and Panther Perch Student Seating This is the view looking at the Student Seating built over the Cost Center and underneath The Panther Perch. This type of seating can also be built facing the Cost Center from the opposite side of the field. This development can include field level luxury suites will fantastic game action views. Suites encased with retractable windows with Student Seating above it. This is the front view of the Luxury Suites and Offices Building that will face the field with seating. Large athletic facilities expenditures began in the interwar period, the period between the two World Wars, with widespread construction of on-campus stadiums. Currently, athletic facilities expenditures are experiencing a second nationwide spending spree that began around the turn of the century. This study considers the types of athletic facilities, motivations for those facilities, and financial models used to pay for those facilities at the University of Georgia. The study concentrates on facilities constructed solely or primarily for football during two chronological periods: the interwar period and the 2000-2017 period.
