2 WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY I DR. KIM GOLDENBERG I On April 9, 1998, Kim Goldenberg, M.D., became the fifth president of Wright State University. He joined the faculty in 1983 and served as dean of the university's School of Medicine from 1990-1998. Dr. Goldenberg has served as a consultant to the White House on health care reform and to Congress on veterans' affairs. He has provided leadership in 19 national committees and received 15 academic honors and community awards. During Dr. Goldenberg's tenure, the medical school achieved national acclaim. Before entering the medical profession, Dr. Goldenberg was an engineer for Grumman Aerospace Corporation. His work included testing critical parts for NASA's first manned lunar landing and managing a $49 million jet research testing program. Dr. Goldenberg has produced three books and over 80 publications. He is listed in Who's Who in America and in International Who's Who. Since becoming president, Dr. Goldenberg has joined two national councils of presidents and the Ohio Science and Technology Council. He is on the boards of the Miami Valley Economic Development Coalition, Miami Valley Research Foundation, the Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute, and Inventing Flight (The 2003 Committee). Dr. Goldenberg is also on the boards of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference and the Dayton Art Institute and is an advisor to the Special Wish Foundation for Children. I DR. DAN ABRAHAMOWICZ I Dr. Dan Abrahamowicz is vice president for student affairs and enrollment services at Wright State University. A native of Lorain, Ohio, Dr. Abrahamowicz was appointed in 1996 as vice president. He oversees a variety of university departments including Athletics, Undergraduate Admissions, Campus Recreation, Career Services, Financial Aid, Public Safety, Residence Services, Student Health Services, Student Life, Student Union and Word Processing. A graduate of Marion L. Steele High School (Amherst, Ohio), Dr. Abrahamowicz received the B.A. magna cum laude from Cleveland State University in 1972, and the M.A. degree from The Ohio State University in 1974. He received the Ph.D. degree with an emphasis in counseling and human services from the in 1985. Dr. Abrahamowicz resides in Kettering with his wife, Kelly, and daughter, Katie.

BASKETBALL MEDIA GUIDE 7 , I COACHING STAFF I Lisa Head Coach Fitch Fourth Year Entering her fourth season as head coach of the Wright State women's basketball team, Lisa Fitch looks to build upon the strides that the program has made the past three campaigns, including its first-ever win in a conference tournament last season, and add to that list this year. Named the fourth head coach in the program's history on March 26, 1997, Fitch was no stranger to leading the Raiders before being named as head coach as she directed the team at various times over four years, including a 5-6 mark to close out the 1996-97 season. This is Fitch's eighth season overall with the Raider program as she was the associate head coach for three years after serving as an assistant coach during the 1993-94 season. During that time, she assisted coach Terry Hall with the overall administration of the program from recruiting and scouting to day-to-day practice and office organization. Before coming to Wright State, Fitch was the head coach at the for four seasons, compiling a record of 23-86. Fitch began her coaching career at Walsh College in 1984 where she was the head women's basketball coach for two years, compiling a 29-19 record. In 1988-89, the Cavaliers captured first place in the Mid-Ohio Conference with a 9-1 mark and were ranked fifth in the NAIA District 22. As a result, Fitch was named as the Mid-Ohio Conference's Coach of the Year. Fitch was also the coach for two seasons at Walsh and was 56-33 during that time. Her squads captured back-to-back Greater titles while advancing to the NAIA District 22 postseason playoffs. A 1981 graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in economics, Fitch was a four-year letterwinner in basketball for the Bobcats as a point guard. She also earned her master's degree in sports administration at Ohio University in 1982. Lisa is the daughter of Bill Fitch, who was the head coach of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, New Jersey Nets and Los Angeles Clippers. His 944 victories are third on the NBA's all-time list. Her mother, Margaret, resides in Texas.

8 WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY I I Holly Assistant Coach Borchers Fourth Year Holly Borchers is in her fourth year as an assistant coach at Wright State after completing a standout career at Creighton University. The former Holly Sivesind, Borchers played for the Lady Jays from 1993-97, ranked in the school's top ten list in eight categories, including first in percentage (.797), third in assists (408) and three-pointers made (174), sixth in three-point percentage (.356), seventh in free throws made (228), eighth in points scored (1250), ninth in free throws attempted (286) and tenth in field goals made (424). She was the Freshman of the Year in the Missouri Valley Conference for the 1993-94 season and was a first-team AII-MVC selection as a junior. Borchers also had an outstanding high school career as she was South Dakota's "Miss Basketball" as a senior at Roosevelt High School and a USA Today All-American. She was also a Street & Smith honorable mention All-American in 1993 as she led Roosevelt to a runner-up finish in the state basketball tournament. A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Borchers graduated with a double major in theology and psychology from Creighton in 1997. She and her husband Dean were married this past June and reside in Beavercreek.

Cliff Assistant Coach Sawyer First Year While Cliff Sawyer is new to the college basketball coaching scene as he joins the Raider staff this season, he is definitely a veteran with many previous experiences on and off the court. Prior to coming to Wright State, Sawyer was an educational assistant at Pickerington High School. Along with his classroom duties, which included monitoring students and giving class lectures, he was the freshman girls basketball head coach and the head freshman football coach. He also served as an assistant coach on the varsity girls level and was part of the Pickerington teams that won state titles in 1998 and 1999 and was state runner-up in 2000. Sawyer also played basketball and football at Ohio University and was selected to the National AAU team and for the 1972 Olympic tryout camp. He also played on the All Inter-Service Basketball team while serving as a sergeant in the Air Force. Off the court, Sawyer worked three years as a Youth Leader for the Athens Recreation and Parks Department in Columbus and four years as a program coordinator for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, where he was responsible for elderly programs in a three county area. He also worked for 17 years as a firefighter in Columbus, including service as a medic for six years, a 911 dispatcher for three years and a 911 dispatch trainer for four. Sawyer, who recently completed his bachelor's degree requirements in recreation management from Ohio, and his wife, Debra, have three daughters, including Danyelle, a sophomore forward for the Raiders.

BASKETBALL MEDIA GUIDE 9 I I Beth Assistant Coach Simmons First Year Another newcomer to the Raider coaching staff this season is Beth Simmons, who comes to Wright State from Norton High School, where she led the team to its first district title in nearly 15 years last season. Simmons has also led the Lake Erie AAU team to Nationals and served as an 1 assistant at Lake and Ellet High Schools in during her coaching career. A four-year letterwinner for the Akron Zips from 1992-96, Simmons was recruited by and played for Lisa Fitch her first season. She was also the recipient of the Mid-American Conference Leadership Award while there. Simmons graduated from Akron with a bachelor's degree in health education in 1998 and recently completed a degree in athletic training/sports medicine there. Simmons, who set school record for career points (955) and rebounds (1040) while attending El let High School, was a three-time all-city and All-Summit County selection and received all-city honors in volleyball and softball as well.

Michelle Athletic Trainer Sullivan Fifth Year Michelle Sullivan is in her fifth year as the athletic trainer for the women's basketball team. A Beavercreek native, Sullivan graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1992. While an undergraduate at Wright State, she was a student athletic trainer for the baseball, women's soccer, softball, swimming and diving and women's tennis teams as well as women's basketball. She graduated with a degree in elementary education with a concentration in natural science and athletic t~aining in 1997. Sullivan, who serves as the coordinator of Athletic Training Services at Wright State, graduated with a master's degree in education from WSU's Deaprtment of Health, Physical Education and Recreation this past June.

Scott Team Manager Waltner Second Year Scott Waltner is in his second year as the manager for the women's basketball team. A native of Fairfield, Ohio, Waltner graduated from Fairfield High School in 1997, where he competed on the track team in distance events. He also was a boys basketball manager for four years at Fairfield and a football manager for two. Before joining the women's basketball program at Wright State, Waltner was a manager on the men's team for two seasons. Waltner is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing here at Wright State and plans to graduate in 2002.
