Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Living Document – Interactive PDF Northamptonshire County Council September 2012 Northamptonshire Local Flood Risk Management Strategy Living Document – Interactive PDF Northamptonshire County Council September 2012 Northamptonshire LFRMS (DRAFT September 2012) Document Status All Lead Local Flood Authorities in England are required to develop, maintain, apply and monitor the application of a strategy for local flood risk in their area, which is consistent with the Environment Agency’s National Strategy. This is therefore a statutory document. In Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire County Council is the Lead Local Flood Authority. The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy is an important document that sets the scene for the management of flood risk in Northamptonshire for the coming years. The strategy has been produced during a transitional period, during which the guidelines for implementation of Flood and Water Management Act are in development. To date, commencement orders have not been issued for the entire Act. As part of its development all key partners have had the opportunity to comment on this strategy. Following full public consultation this strategy will be reviewed and updated (if necessary) and finalised as a living document. Accompanying Documents The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy is accompanied by a number of separate documents, as follows: A non-technical Executive Summary of this strategy has been produced as an easy reference guide; The strategy is also subject to Strategic Environmental Assessment and Habitats Regulation Assessment, which have both been produced to support the strategy; An Equalities Impact Assessment has also been undertaken. The resulting document, The North Northamptonshire Green Infrastructure Delivery Plan (NNGIDP), will provide a robust evidence base for both the current and review of the North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy, and will ensure the delivery of appropriate green infrastructure alongside the growth required to achieve economic prosperity. 1.2 The Habitats Directive The UK is bound by the terms of the EC Birds and Habitats Directives, and the provisions of the directives have been transposed into national law through the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010 (the Habitats Regulations). Under the Regulations, it is a requirement that proposed plans or projects that are not directly linked to the management of a European site, but which may have a likely significant effect upon the site must be subject to an assessment of the impact (Appropriate Assessment). Sites collectively known as European sites include Special Protection Areas (SPA), candidate Special Areas of Conservation (cSAC) and Special Areas of Conservation (SAC). As a matter of policy, the Government has also chosen to apply the above requirements in respect of potential Special Protection Areas (pSPA) and Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar sites) even though these are not European sites as a matter of law.

Opening times During the summer season (mid-March to end October) we are open from 10am until 6pm. Last admission is at 4pm. At major events – British Grand Prix, Moto GP, Silverstone Classic, British Superbikes, World Endurance Championship, British Touring Cars Championship visitors must have a ticket for the on track activity to purchase an admission to the Silverstone Experience. Opening hours on certain days during major events are 8am to 8pm with last admission at 6pm. There is no dedicated car parking at the Silverstone Experience during the main days of major events – visitors must park where directed on site by Silverstone Circuit event staff and walk or use shuttle buses. Travelling to Silverstone Visiting us by car Silverstone is conveniently situated right in the heart of the UK, approximately 90 minutes north of central London and 60 minutes south of Birmingham. Road access is exceptionally easy along the A43 dual carriageway from either the M40 or M1. We are based right at the entrance of the circuit in the big pink and green building.
