“We had a looked at quite a few houses but when we walked into this one, we both loved it immediately. We had a great feeling about it and knew we would be happy here. The house hadn’t been touched for 20 years but it didn’t bother us as we saw the huge potential.”

“We added an extension to create our lovely, bright master bedroom with an en suite and dressing area. The room is double aspect and I like to look out over the horses in the yard or into the garden. It’s a lovely room to relax in. Set back from the road, the house is approached through electric gates which adds to the sense of security. We also built a double garage with a room above and a gravel driveway but the biggest change was the addition of the equestrian facilities which have served us very well over the 25 years we have lived here.”

“Our children attended the local primary school just up the road and moved up into Grammar School. We’re situated halfway between Maidstone and Tonbridge Wells and everything we need is within a short drive. Marden train station takes us into Waterloo and London Bridge, whilst is like a little town and includes a Waitrose, restaurants, bakers, butchers and a Costa which is always full of people meeting up. There’s also a lovely park where the children play, it’s a nice place to live.”

“Outside, the garden is not overlooked and the well-maintained conifers offer privacy and a feeling of enclosure. The patio area has a 3-piece suite, table and chairs and a BBQ area. Our grandchildren love to visit and can play safely and securely and they are often found in their barn style play house which is built on the decking area and has a little picket fence and plants.”

“I spend most of my time in the kitchen dining area and I particularly like the island with the integrated cooker. I can be cooking dinner whilst looking out into the room and I can still chat and engage with everyone. It’s a lovely, handmade, solid walnut kitchen with a large seating area, including two settees and French doors leading out to the patio.”

“We’ve done a huge amount of work to build the house and land into a horse riders’ dream. There’s a big yard to park the lorry, stables, barn, tack up areas, a tack room, manège and 3 paddocks totalling about 12 to 14 acres and it’s lovely and quiet.”

“We’re a very close family and we’ve enjoyed lots of parties over the years. Our children and grandchildren come for Christmas and we all congregate around the big table and dance to the festive tunes. We’ve had birthday celebrations for up to 20 guests where everyone mingled inside and out and had a great time.”

“We’ve always been very happy living here but the time has come to downsize and it would be nice to think that the house will be filled with another family who will enjoy everything it has to offer.”*
