Wright’s first design for Monona Terrace was created in 1938. A labor of love, yet surrounded by controversy, Wright Perched on the bank of the East Twin River, it has three fireplaces and a second floor balcony overlooking a 65-foot spent 21 years, 63,000 hours of staff time, drew some 4,000 sketches and eight drafts on the project.
