Merkt 73728 Esslingen, Katharinenstrasse 59, Tel. 0711-359828 Tierärztliche Vorschriften: Folgende Impfungen sind obligatorisch: Ø gegen Tollwut, mindestens 4 Wochen vor dem Ausstellungstermin und nicht älter als 1 Jahr. Ø gegen Katzenseuche, hier entscheidet der verwendete Impfstoff über die Dauer der Impfgültigkeit. Ø gegen Katzenschnupfen, nach erfolgter Grundimmunisierung höchstens 1 Jahr. Ø Weiße Katzen aller Rassen und Klassen müssen mit einem Mikrochip versehen sein und ein audiometrisches Hörzertifikat vorweisen. Die Katzen müssen sauber präsentiert werden und dürfen keine Anzeichen von Krankheit oder Parasiten zeigen. Ist dies nicht der Fall, so kann der Tierarzt dem Aussteller dieser Katze mit allen seinen Katzen das Betreten der Ausstellung verwehren bzw. der Richter die Katze disqualifizieren. Grußwort Internationale Rassekatzenausstellung Sehr geehrte Ausstellerinnen und Aussteller, liebe Besucherinnen und Besucher, ich freue mich, Sie und den Verein der Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V. als Veranstalter der Internationalen Rassekatzenausstellung in Esslingen am Neckar begrüßen zu dürfen. Katzen gehören zu den Tieren, die von den Menschen schon seit Jahrtausenden geschätzt und bewundert werden. Schon im Alten Ägypten wurden die Samtpfoten als Heimtiere gehalten. Selbst der babylonische Talmud lobt die Katze und hebt die Zucht „um das Haus rein zuhalten“ hervor. Dies ist heutzutage in den wenigsten Fällen der Grund für die Haltung und Zucht von Katzen. Als reines Nutztier werden Katzen kaum mehr gehalten. Heute geht es vielmehr um die Schönheit der Tiere und die Freude, die sie ihren Halterinnen und Haltern bereiten. Hierbei ist es besonders wichtig, dass die Zucht nicht in Tierquälerei ausartet. Der Verein der Rassekatzen und sein Patron, der 1. Deutsche Edelkatzenzüchter- Verband e.V., setzen sich für den Katzenschutz ein. Strenge Zucht- und Haltungsrichtlinien wachen über das Wohlergehen von Jung- und Zuchttieren. Sie als Besucher können sich auf der Ausstellung umfassend über die verschiedenen Rassen informieren und im Gespräch mit kompetenten Züchtern erhalten Sie Antworten auf Fragen zur Haltung, Pflege, zu Krankheiten und vielem mehr. Ich wünsche der 3. und 4. FIFe- Katzenausstellung der Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V. gutes Gelingen. Allen Ausstellern mit Ihren Katzen wünsche ich viel Erfolg bei den Wettbewerben und den Besuchern eine interessante Ausstellung sowie einen schönen Aufenthalt in Esslingen am Neckar. Dr. Jürgen Zeiger Oberbürgermeister Sehr geehrte, Ausstellerinnen und Aussteller, sehr geehrte Besucherinnen und Besucher, der Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V. (RKS e.V.) begrüßt Sie auf das Herzlichste zu seiner diesjährigen Internationalen Rassekatzenausstellung im Zentrum Zell in Esslingen. Als Katzenzuchtverein unter dem Patronat des 1. DEKZV e.V veran- stalten wir in hier, im Zentrum Zell, unsere 3. & 4. Internationale Rasse- katzenausstellung. Die letzten Tage waren zunehmend mit emsiger Geschäftigkeit ausgefüllt. Vieles musste noch geplant und organisiert werden, damit wir die Erwartungen der Aussteller und Besucher so gut nur irgend möglich erfüllen können. Zunächst danken wir unserem Hauptsponsor, der Royal Canin Tiernahrung GmbH & Co. KG, für das uns entgegengebrachte Vertrauen und die, auch in diesem Jahr wieder gewährte Unterstützung. Wir danken den Ausstellern, die die Hektik und Strapazen einer Ausstellung auf sich nehmen, um hier ihre Katzen dem interessierten Publikum vorzustellen, für ihr Kommen, und den Industrieausstellern für die Präsentation des reichen Angebotes an Produkten zur Pflege unserer geliebten Katzen. Wir, die Mitglieder des Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V., wollen Ihnen unsere ganze Aufmerksamkeit zu Teil werden lassen, damit diese Rassekatzenausstellung für alle Beteiligten ein voller Erfolg werden kann. Sicherlich haben manche unter Ihnen gerade deshalb zu uns gefunden, weil sie Ihr Heim bereits mit einer, vielleicht sogar mit zwei oder mehreren Katzen teilen und von daher vom kätzischen Wesen ganz und gar gefangen sind. Andere unter Ihnen haben sich wiederum vielleicht gerade deshalb zum Besuch unserer Ausstellung entschlossen, weil sie sich in der Welt der Rassekatzen zunächst orientieren möchten um herauszufinden, was es denn überhaupt für Katzenrassen gibt und welche der Rassen ihr ganz persönliches Wohlgefallen finden könnte. Haben Sie bitte keine Scheu und sprechen Sie unsere Katzenaussteller, die in den ganz überwiegenden Fällen auch selbst Katzenzüchter sind, an. Unsere Aussteller werden all Ihre Fragen gern beantworten. Elvira Walz Willkommen beim Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V. Der Rassekatzen Stuttgart e.V. (RKS e.V.) wurde am 02. Januar 2004 von Mitgliedern der Regionalgruppe Stuttgart im 1. Deutschen Edelkatzenzüchter-Verband e.V. (1. DEKZV e.V.) gegründet. Der RKS e.V. ist beim Amtsgericht Stuttgart unter dem Aktenzeichen VR 7045 in das Vereinsregister eingetragen. Die Gründungsmitglieder des RKS hatten sich zum Ziel gesetzt, einen Verein zu gründen, der nach der für das Jahr 2005 angestrebten Änderung der Satzung des 1. DEKZV e.V., unter dem Dach der FIFe und des 1. DEKZV e.V. organisiert ist. Deshalb hat der RKS e.V. bereits am 16. März 2004 einen Patronatsvertrag mit dem 1. DEKZV e.V. unterzeichnet. Spätestens ab dem 01. Januar 2006 strebt der RKS e.V. als juristische Person die Vollmitgliedschaft

A Longhair does not necessarily mean a Per- sian. Therefore those who make statements about the "Longhairs-or- Persians" in one breath, as if they were one and the same, are not accurate ; Longhairs are just that, cats with Long hair. Possibly the most numerous of the Longhair Breeds is our lovely Persian, in all its many beautiful colors. There is the Himalayan Breed of Longhair, and we hear talk of the revival of the earlier Angora Breed of Longhair (CFA. YB 1970). Then we have the Sacred Cat of Burma or Birman, a breed of Longhair, and the Balinese is yet another. The Maine Coon Cat is a Longhair Breed, as is the Turkish Cat, and there was the Longhair Russian Blue of yesteryear (CFA YB. 1967). It is not unreasonable to suppose that many of our present shorthair breeds and colors of cat, may, if the interest occurs, be bred to produce long fur. Indeed, already the Longhaired Manx and the Longhaired Abyssinians are not uncommon, and it could be only a matter of time before many more different types of Longhair cats are produced in sufficient numbers to warrant recognition for competi- tion in Championship Shows. No amount of contradicting can alter the above facts — there is no such thing as the "Longhair Type," for each is different in some way.

They could be from genetic origin or they can represent a teratogenic cause, in some cases also phenocopies. Phenocopies show the clinical appearance known also for classical genetic defects, but they were acquired during embryogenesis by teratogenic factors. If there is no genetic test available for the specific breed or disease, the causes will be often unspecified. Anomalies of microanatomic or biochemical type usually go unreported and are included under stillbirths, faders, or undetermined causes, if kittens die early. Some anomalies in the brain, heart, or respiratory system can cause immediate threat to life, resulting in death at birth or within the first days, weeks or months, whereas other malformations remain unnoticed for a different period, depending on the localisation. In most cases, pathologic and histological examination is the only possibility to diagnose non visible malformations. The occurrence of a pathognomonic symptom– a typical sign on which a diagnosis or a suspicion can be made - helps in some cases to be able to recognise the problem. In other cases, X-ray, sonography , endoscopy, or blood tests can help to diagnose the defect and to make a prognosis. Some of internal defects ones can find accidentally (e.g.during surgery or necropsy).
