9 Reasons why | VISITS

03. Enjoy a full and exciting experience

Design feeds on perceptions: suggestions and references that only direct experience can offer. For this reason, YACademy courses are also composed of a series of visits and trips aimed at enriching the cultural baggage of the students so they can improve their design approach. Surveys, building-site visits and company visits complete the offer of a program that is based on experience by leading stu- dents to get in touch with some of the most excellent firms on the Italian and international scenario.

10 Reasons why | WORKSHOP

04. Designs for prestigious clients

After the lectures, students will develop a real project under the su- pervision of a renowned architectural firm. Through the workshop, the students will therefore not only have the opportunity to learn the processes and methodologies used by their tutor, but also to enri- ch their curriculum with new design experience (whose outcome is often realized) for some of the most prestigious clients in the world.

05. Build your professional image

The core of the academy is the enhancement of the young people who are part of it, helping them to lay the foundation for a pro- fessional growth and affirmation even beyond the duration of the training program. In this sense, the academy places student at the center of a wide and prestigious media circuit, oriented to tell their design and talent, both through specific communication projects, and through the collaboration with press and various newspapers that report to YAC.

Fondazione Prada

Prada Foundation is a cultural institution created in 1993 by Miuc- cia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli, in 2015 it inaugurated the new per- manent headquarter in Milan, designed by OMA studio and lead by Rem Koolhaas, in an old distillery of the first decades of twentieth century. The result of this architectural re-configuration is a campus of post industrial spaces of recent construction. These multiform spaces hosted a wide cultural programme, essentially focused on contemporary art, but open to other languages and disciplines. In 2016, Osservatorio was opened, Prada Foundation’s space dedica- ted to photography, located in Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery in Milan old town. From 2011 there is another permanent space in Venice inside the eighteenth-century Queen’s Palace of Ca’ Corner. From 1993 the activities of Foundation include monographic commitmen- ts developed by international artists, conferences of contemporary philosophy, research exhibition and initiatives related to cinema and architecture. With the open in 2015 of the new headquarter in Milan, the experimental vocation of Prada Foundation and the constant re- search for new correlations between different languages have been strengthened. A research that realizes itself in historical exhibitions, designs in collaboration with artists, large retrospective, performa- tive arts projects, film festivals, and activities which have explored creative exchanges among visual arts, cinema, media production, technology and science.
