Activities Week 1 Inside you will find lots of exciting things to Monday 23 - Friday 27 July 11 do throughout the school holidays. As ever there is a wide range of activity days, family Activities Week 2 Monday 30 July - Saturday 4 August 13 workshops, children’s shows and multi- sport activity sessions. For more information visit www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk /index.php/help/privacy Throughout the holidays 5-14 Multi-Sports Days years Epping Forest Multi- £16.50 Sport Days will give PPING per day E young people the FOREST chance to take part in fun packed days of exciting and engaging activities including Football, Dodgeball, Tennis, Mini Olympics, Dance and Competitions. Please note children should dress in sports clothing ready to take part in a whole host of sporting activities. Each child should have spare clothing and waterproof clothing in case of bad weather. Lunch is not provided at the Multi-sports days. Each child must bring their own packed lunch and drinks (no energy drinks please). Join us for this Summer themed activity where we will have bug hunting, den building and a live story telling session as well as a host of Summer activities. Wednesday 25 July 10am – 12noon Forest Land at The Stubbles Nursery Rd, Loughton IG10 4DZ 5-14 Play in the Park years EPPING FOREST ‘Play in the Park’ is all about playing games and having fun IN THE outdoors. No need to book, just drop in at any time. The Play in The Park Team bring along a range of sports equipment and arts & crafts resources for children and young people to enjoy. The team help organise activities and games. All totally free of charge! Children must be accompanied by an adult. The activities are suitable for all ages (unless stated) and we cater for a wide range of needs. Siblings and parents are also welcome to join us on some activities, please read below for details. Families can self refer on to the programme and do not need to have Short Break hours. As well as a dedicated holiday programme for children and young people with SEND the Epping Forest Inclusion Project runs an extensive clubs and activities programme during the school term. If you want to find out more about the work the Inclusion Project does across the district, or be added to the mailing list, please contact Disability Inclusion Engagement Officer, Olivia Worsfold by email at [email protected] The Epping Forest Inclusion Project also holds regular Parent Forum meetings. They give families t he u nique opp ortunity to have a voice in the provision that is provided for their children. To keep up-to-date with all our latest news, like our Facebook page Epping Forest Disability Forum All Bounce & Swim ages Monday 23 July An energetic two hour session starts Friday 17 August with one hour of trampolining before 1.30pm – 3.30pm we hit the pool to cool off! This session is only for children or young people c with disabilities/SEN and their siblings. Booking is essential. 4-25 Own a Pony years Wednesday 25 July Enjoy a session of Wednesday 8 August £25 riding and all the Wednesday 29 August fun that comes with 10am – 12noon owning a pony.

PCC's New Initiatives Fund – Mobile CCTV cameras The Council's Community Safety team has been successful in a bid to the Police and Crime Commissioner's New Initiatives Fund for five Abus mobile camera systems, which are used alongside other interventions to protect vulnerable victims in the District. The cameras are installed in partnership with Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF), can be used for a set period of time and have the option of being purchased by the user at the end of this period. Loughton High Street CCTV scheme The contractor for the refurbishment and expansion of Loughton High Street's CCTV network has been appointed, and work will commence on 24 April. The number in the area is being increased from six to 30, and the coverage will now extend to Traps Hill. Domestic Homicide Review The work of the Domestic Homicide Review Panel is now reaching a conclusion, with the Panel considering its final report and the recommendations it wishes to make to the Home Office.

Introduction This statement provides Essex County Council’s (ECC) criteria for objecting to the Network Rail (Essex and others crossing reduction) Transport and Works Act 1992 Order (the Order). Structure of this Statement The appendix and references detailed in the Documents section comprise supporting documentation and website links including Network Rail’s (NR) consultation plans showing their proposals including alternative routes which have additionally been annotated with ECC comments, and separate ECC plans illustrating the negative effect of each closure proposal on the public’s access to and enjoyment of the surrounding Public Rights of Way (PROW) network and showing the status of the highways used for NR’s proposed alternative routes, as well as other relevant documentation. Waste Management The Christmas and New Year holiday period collections went well however there was an increase in the number of roads that waste vehicles are unable to access due to inconsiderate parking especially on junctions. This has led to waste and recycling not being collected from entire roads on their scheduled collection day and refuse freighters had to return later in the day or over the following days to collect waste and recycling. This is a costly exercise and is both environmentally and economically unsustainable. Work is underway to try and resolve this issue and reduce the number of inaccessible roads. As Members are aware the Council has been working on the Epping Forest Recycling Rewards project to engage some of our residents in blocks of flats. I am pleased to report that our residents have been competing over the last year, completing over 18,000 positive actions to top the Recycling Rewards leader board and donate £1,750 to local charities. The Council is running this project in partnership with Jump a leading supplier of sustainability and wellbeing engagement programmes in the UK. Residents living in 1,500 properties across selected blocks of purpose built flats in Epping Forest compete against each other through Recycling Rewards by taking part in activities such as Food Waste Challenge, Recycling Quiz and ‘Right Thing, Right Bin’. Recycling Rewards aims to reduce contamination and improve the quality of recycling.
