Er begann seine Trainerkarriere bei Ankaragücü und arbeitete auch bei Göztepe, ehe er Assistent von Nationaltrainer Sepp Piontek wurde und 1990 die U21-Auswahl als Cheftrainer übernahm. • 1993 wurde er zum ersten Mal Nationaltrainer der Türkei und erreichte mit der Mannschaft die Endrunde der EURO '96. Auch wenn die Türken in England ihre Spiele allesamt verloren, war es doch schon ein großer Erfolg, erstmals nach der FIFA-WM 1954 wieder bei einem großen Turnier dabei gewesen zu sein. • Nach der EURO kehrte Terim zu Galatasaray zurück und gewann dort vier Meisterschaften sowie 2000 den UEFA- Pokal. Anschließend folgte er dem Ruf der Serie A und trainierte die Fiorentina sowie kurzzeitig auch den AC Milan. Danach kehrte er zu Galatasaray zurück, doch mehrere enttäuschende Ergebnisse sorgten 2004 für seinen vorübergehenden Rücktritt vom Fußball. • Der 2005 erneut zum türkischen Nationaltrainer ernannte Terim wird in seinem Heimatland wegen seiner Führungsstärke "İmparator" genannt. Bei der Qualifikation zur WM 2006 scheiterte er mit seinem Team in den Play- off-Spielen gegen die Schweiz. Erfolgreicher verlief die UEFA EURO 2008, wo die Türkei bis ins Halbfinale vordrang, nach der verpassten Qualifikation zur FIFA-WM 2010 nahm Terim aber seinen Hut. • Im Juli 2011 wurde er zum dritten Mal als Trainer von Galatasaray vorgestellt und gleich in seiner ersten Saison konnte sein Team erstmals nach vier Jahren wieder den Titel in der Süper Lig gewinnen. 2013 durfte Terim mit seiner Mannschaft erneut die Meisterschaft feiern und erreichte in der UEFA Champions League das Viertelfinale. Im August 2013 übernahm er zum dritten Mal das Nationalteam, zunächst in Teilzeit. Seit seinem Rücktritt bei Galatasaray im September ist er voll und ganz für die Auswahl seines Landes da, trotzdem reichte es nicht zur Teilnahme an der WM 2014, obwohl drei der vier Spiele unter seiner Regie gewonnen werden konnten. Aber er qualifizierte sich mit der Türkei für die UEFA EURO 2016, wo in der Gruppenphase Endstation war. Markku Kanerva Geboren: 24. Nach seinem ersten Aufenthalt bei HJK von 1983 bis 1990 kehrte er 1994 zurück und blieb bis zu seinem Karriereende 1998. • 1998/99 bestritt er mit HJK fünf Partien in der UEFA Champions League, nachdem er zuvor beim schwedischen Klub Elfsborg und beim finnischen Verein FinnPa gespielt hatte. Kanerva absolvierte zudem 59 Länderspiele für Finnland und erzielte dabei ein Tor. • Seine Trainerkarriere startete er als Assistent bei HJK, bevor er 2003 kurz für Viikingit verantwortlich war. Im darauffolgenden Jahr stieß er zur Trainerabteilung des Finnischen Fußballverbandes (SPL-FBF). • Zwischen 2004 und 2009 zeichnete er für die finnische U21 verantwortlich und wurde als Finnlands Trainer des Jahres 2008 ausgezeichnet, nachdem er sein Team erstmals zu einer Endrunde der UEFA-U21-Europameisterschaft (2009) geführt hatte. • Zwischen 2010 und 2016 war Kanerva Assistent der finnischen A-Nationalmannschaft und sowohl 2011 als auch 2015 als Interimstrainer tätig, ehe er im Dezember 2016 als Nachfolger von Hans Backe endgültig den Cheftrainerposten übernahm. 5 Turkey - Finland Freitag 24 März 2017 - 18.00CET (20.00 Ortszeit) Pressemappe Antalya Stadyumu, Antalya Spielverantwortliche Schiedsrichter 6 Turkey - Finland Freitag 24 März 2017 - 18.00CET (20.00 Ortszeit) Pressemappe Antalya Stadyumu, Antalya Wettbewerbsfakten Das Konzept der Woche des Fußballs erlaubt es den Fans, die besten Spiele der European Qualifiers zu sehen und mitzuerleben, welche UEFA-Mitgliedsverbände die Tickets für die FIFA-WM 2018 in Russland lösen. Die Qualifikation für die FIFA-WM 2018 besteht aus neun Gruppen mit je sechs Teams. Alle Mannschaften spielen zweimal gegeneinander (zuhause und auswärts). Die Qualifikation findet im Rahmen des Konzepts "Woche des Fußballs" statt. Eingeführt wurde das Konzept vor der Qualifikationsphase der UEFA EURO 2016. Die Spiele finden jetzt von Donnerstag bis Dienstag statt, somit besteht die Möglichkeit, mehr Mannschaften ins Rampenlicht zu rücken. Dank der Woche des Fußballs finden mindestens 43 Prozent der Partien am Wochenende statt. Fans haben somit die Chance, die Partien live im TV, in den Stadien oder auf UEFA.com zu verfolgen. Die Anstoßzeiten sind meist um 18 Uhr MEZ oder um 20.45 Uhr MEZ an Samstagen und Sonntagen.
