Most of the route follows the Pennine Cycleway Route 68 and visits several lovely Dales Villages along the way. A. From the Car park opposite the village hall exit by the black finger post signs. Turn right up the hill on West street: signposted for the Leeds Liverpool Canal. A er crossing the Canal turn le onto Mark House Lane (Dead end road) and connue on this road as it climbs up through the woods and turns into a track. B. Keep following Mark House Lane, as it turns 90degrees le and then right at two farms on a descent, which brings you to cross the River Aire and into a 3 way juncon in Bell Busk. Turn le onto tarmac road and immediately over a bridge and turn right signed Bell Busk. Follow the road for 2.5km to Oerburn village. C. Turn right at T juncon in Oerburn by the bridge, signposted Airton (1.5mile). Follow this road to Airton. D. In Airton village you will reach the main village crossroads and green. CAUTION when crossing straight over the cross roads signposted Calton and Winterburn. Follow this road down to then river and up to Calton and onto Winterburn villages: CAUTION fast descent and narrow bridge near Winterburn. E. Turn le at the narrow bridge signposted Heon. Follow this road for 3km as it climbs up and down into Heon Village: CAUTION on Cafes/Pubs entering the village as narrow road. - Gargrave: The Dalesman Café (01756 749250) F. At the Village green in Heon turn le and then le again onto the main road to Gargrave. Old Swan Inn (01756 749232) Follow this road for 5km, through Flasby and onto Gargrave, turning le at the T juncon with -Heon: The Angel Inn (01756 730263) the splendid Eshton Hall on your right hand side.
