Helping the Brunei Historical Centre in training its staff as well as in searching, identifying, and collecting of historical documentation on Brunei Darussalam available in the Archives of Public Record Office, Kew, UK, American National Archives, USA, and Australian National Archives and other relevant places. The last Trip was made in June/July 2003. In July/August 2005 I accompanied my HOD. Dr Hj Asbol Mail, and two History Center Officers to collect historica; records available in the Indian Archives of Gia, Chennai, and New Delhi. 2. Periodical lectures to the Visiting ASEAN Interpol Officers to Bandar Seri Begawan, 1992 3. Advisor to the Chancellery of Universiti Brunei Darussalam on the collection and purchase of Malay/Islamic manuscripts and relevant Brunei material for preservation in the Library's Brunei Collections. 4. Offered courses in History to young cadets at Brunei Military Training College at Berakas, Brunei. 1995-98 5. Member of the Translation Committee for Brunei Annual Teachers’ Day 1997-2004. 6. Consultant for various national agencies in assessing and purchasing Brunei historical and Malay manuscripts including Pusat Sejarah, UBD and Yayasan Sultan haji Hassanal Bolkiah. 7. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE AND GRANTS IBKKM, UKM sponsorship to deepen research on Classical Malay Literature with emphasis on Sri Lanka’s Contributioin to the Malay manuscripts tradition of the 19th century. 1985-1987 Since 1992 until about 2004 my researches on Brunei History have been funded largely by the Ministry of Education and Brunei’s History Centre which resulted in the wrting and publication of five books and several research papers on modern Brunei History. In 1997, UBD Research grant was provided for research and completion of a book of R. H. HIckling’s Memorandum which was duly completed with the collaboration of Professor Emeritus Nicholas Tarling in 2012. 9.
