Singapore and in a Bilateral Air Exercise

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and (TNI-AU) are now conducting the fourteenth exercise in their regular series of biennial air exercise, Exercise Elang Indopura. The exercise takes place from 3 to 22 Jul 06 in two phases: a Command Post Exercise (CPX) at Paya Lebar Air Base (PLAB) in Singapore, followed by an Air Manoeuvre Exercise (AMX) at Air Force Base (AFB) in Eastern , Indonesia. About 300 personnel and 17 aircraft from the two air forces will participate in the exercise.

The exercise is jointly directed by the Exercise Directors, COL Peter Ware of the RSAF and COL Abdul Muis of the TNI-AU. It was opened by the RSAF’s Chief of Staff (Air Staff) Brigadier-General Sih Seah Wee and TNI-AU’s Deputy Chief of Staff Air Marshal Wresni Wiro S.E. at PLAB this afternoon. The exercise will conclude at Iswahyudi AFB with a closing ceremony on 21 Jul 06, which will be officiated by the chiefs of the two air forces – the RSAF’s Brigadier-General Ng Chee Khern and the TNI-AU’s Air Chief Marshal Herman Prayitno.

Personnel from the RSAF and TNI-AU will also conduct a joint socio-civic programme for the people of on 15 Jul 06 at Iswahyudi AFB Hospital. They will distribute food

1 packages and provide medical and dental services.

Exercise Elang Indopura helps strengthen the ties between the two air forces and enhances their interoperability.
