FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brandon McNelis July 23, 2021 857.241.8343 Travis Basciotta 617.459.6853 Michael Tolvo 617.943.7937 Laney Byler 617.817.0433 BRUINS SIGN TAYLOR HALL TO FOUR-YEAR CONTRACT BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, July 23, that the team has signed forward Taylor Hall to a four-year contract with an annual NHL cap hit of $6 million. “The Bruins are excited that Taylor wanted to remain a Boston Bruin and we are thrilled to have signed him to a multi-year contract,” said Sweeney. “He is an impact player that brings speed, scoring, skill and two-way commitment to our lineup. He fit seamlessly into our locker room and will be an integral part of our organization’s goal to compete for the Stanley Cup.” Hall will be available to media via Zoom today at 7 pm ET. Hall, 29, was acquired by the Bruins at the 2021 NHL trade deadline. In 16 regular season games with the Bruins, Hall recorded eight goals and six assists for 14 points. In 11 playoff games, the 6-foot-1, 206-pound forward tallied three goals and two assists for five points. In 2017-18 with the New Jersey Devils, Hall tallied 39 goals and 54 assists for 93 points, and was the recipient of the Hart Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the player judged most valuable to his team. Hall played in the playoffs for the first time in 2017-18, appearing in five games and totaling two goals and four assists for six points. The Calgary, Alberta native has appeared in 680 career NHL games with Boston, Buffalo, Arizona, New Jersey and Edmonton, totaling 228 goals and 368 assists for 596 points. Hall was originally selected by Edmonton in the first round (1st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. #07/23/21# .

Galiardi, two years older than Hall, and a current member of the Colorado Avalanche. Photograph by: Windsor Star, Windsor Star WINDSOR, Ont. — Taylor Hall is one of the two fresh faces of the NHL’s next generation, but he’s really a throwback, a backyard rink rat who honed his dynamic game playing for hours on the ice surface outside his back door. “It’s hard to be a hockey player without a backyard rink,” said Taylor’s dad, Steve Hall, an ex-CFL player and former member of Canada’s bobsled team. “There’s no question, that’s where the kids learn.” Young Hall learned plenty noodling around on the backyard rink, to the point neither Steve nor Taylor think it accidental he has become the dynamic player he is. Last Wednesday, NHL Central Scouting rated Hall second overall in their final rankings, behind slick centre Tyler Seguin of the Ontario Hockey League’s Plymouth Whalers, after both players shared the league’s scoring title with 106 points. The two 18-year-olds have taken turns atop the rankings all season, so the final ‘pick ’em’ rating was hardly a surprise just a bit less than three months from the entry draft in Los Angeles in June.

He didn’t even glance at a group of New York Islanders swarming forward Matt Martin to celebrate their fifth goal Thursday night. Dahlin, now a 20-year-old defenseman and 164 games into a National Hockey League career that began with his selection first overall at the 2018 draft, skated toward the Buffalo Sabres’ bench and used his right hand to lift his stick in the air to signal for a line change. Martin, a fourth-line grinder known more for his right hook than scoring touch, had just skated by Dahlin and across the front of the Sabres’ net before jamming the puck past goalie Jonas Johansson to seal the Islanders' 5- 2 win. In years past, Dahlin’s frustration might have boiled over. One of the NHL’s bright young defensemen, Dahlin has grown accustomed to the sometimes overwhelming emotion that comes with failure. He’s experienced more than his fair share during his third season in the NHL. Entering Monday, Dahlin owned a league-worst minus-21 rating – on pace for minus-75 if this were an 82-game season – and advanced metrics illustrate how he’s struggling at times to adjust to a bigger role defensively. “It comes (down to forgetting) things, it comes (down) to working harder,” Dahlin said matter of factly. “You are allowed to get (upset) at yourself.
