Fire Classification: Fire Classification is outside the scope of Rule 9B-72, and is therefore not included in this evaluation.

Insulation: InsulStar® Plus has insulation properties, but thermal properties are outside the scope of Rule 9B-72, and are therefore not included in this evaluation.

Tested Assembly Components:

1. Roof Deck: The wood structural roof sheathing shall comply with Florida Building Code Section 2304.7.2

2. Adhesive: InsulStar® Plus shall be applied to both vertical sides of the rafter / truss top chord and the underside of the roof sheathing / deck and comply with the product material standards.

3. Structural Roof rafter / roof truss top chord shall be dimensional . Member:

Installation Method: 1. Surface Preparation: All surfaces to be sprayed with NCFI polyurethane foam must be dry, clean, and secure. Remove and other debris from areas to be sprayed by blowing with compressed air or vacuuming with a shop vacuum. Check surfaces with NCFI MDP strips to verify dryness. All metal to which foam is to be applied must be free of oil, grease, rust, etc. Primers should be used where necessary. . 2. Fillet Foam Application: Apply spray foam using a “picture ” technique. Foam must cover at least 3-inches of the wood rafter member and 3-inches of the roof deck. A resulting triangular cant at least 3-inches high and 3-inches wide will cover the joint between the wood rafter and the underside of the roofing decking. Apply this cant in 2 to 3 passes allowing each pass to fully expand and be no longer tacky between applications

Quality Assurance: The manufacturer has demonstrated compliance of roof panel products in accordance with the Florida Building Code and Rule 9B-72 for manufacturing under a quality assurance program audited by an approved quality assurance entity through Keystone Certifications, Inc. (FBC Organization #QUA ID:1844)

Performance Standards: The roof assembly described herein has been evaluated and tested in accordance with: • Florida Building Code, 2007 Sections 104.11, 1714.1, 1714.3

Code Compliance: The product described herein has demonstrated compliance with the Florida Building Code 2007, Section 1609.5.1.

Evaluation Report Scope: This product evaluation is limited to compliance with the structural wind load requirements of the Florida Building Code, as related to Rule 9B-72.

System Limitations: The required design wind loads shall be determined for each project per FBC, 2007, Section 1609. Any rational analysis shall be prepared by a qualified design professional, as required by Florida Building Code, Section 104, 105, and 106. InsulStar® Plus shall be installed by a qualified spray foam applicator who is familiar with the operation and maintenance of his equipment and who is familiar with the properties of this NCFI Spray System. This product is not evaluated for use in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone.
