ANSWER: SUNSET AND FIREWORKS AND SUNSET ANSWER: 2 Cards vs Cubs By Jordan Stern With the regular season approaching the MLB teams are getting ready for opening day. The Cubs vs Cardinals is one of the many great openers. Both teams seem to have pretty good rosters this season. With the Cards picking pitcher Sydney Ponson and look at a good rookie relief pitcher Adam Wainwright. They also have Scott Rolen coming back this season from a shoulder injury that stooped him from playing almost all of last season. The Cards are looking at a good season. But don’t jump the gun yet. The Cubs are looking ok. They have most of there team coming back for this season. Last years batting title winner Derrek Lee is coming back again. They hope to have their full pitching roster back for the season. They were plagued with injuries last year in that area. They have one big new acquisition in Juan Pierre, which should help their batting rotation and outfield. It should be a great opening series but we all know who’s going to win - the Cardinals. They have a visibly better roster. They also have one big thing that sets them apart from the Cubs - Albert Pujols. That's right, not the BMW phony, the actual thing. And today, I have some very interesting details for you. It has a genuine BMW V-12 giving it 627 BHP at 7400 RPM which redlines at 7500 RPM. It displaces 6064 cc at 369.9 cubic inches. A compression ratio of 10:5:1. But barely anyone can afford this beauty. This car will cost you a startling $1.13 million dollars, and that is without all of the bells and whistles. It only weighs an amazingly low 2840 pounds. A top speed of 231 mph, a 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and a 0-30 in 1.7 seconds. 0- 100 in 7.7 seconds and a quarter mile of 11.6 seconds. Overall, if you are looking for a great car and are willing to spend $1.13 million dollars on one, this is right for you. But be quick! there are only about 300 ever made! It’s either this car, or the Bugatti Veyron (See Saleen S7 in issue number 7). I would prefer the Veyron though. But I will stop talking now. Thanks for reading! I know I am! By Brandon Butz All right Central Schoolers, Spring Break is finally here. It’s time to take a break from tests and homework (yeah!) and kick back and relax. Unfortunately for the people of Chicago, we are yet to hit spring weather, but it is coming! This doesn’t really matter anyway because everyone is going somewhere warm like Florida or the Bahamas. As we count down to the up-and-coming Spring Break, here are some tips to make this Spring Break one of your best. Hot spots to visit: • The Bahamas-very hot and tropical weather. Great beaches. Also has a great hotel and water park called Atlantis, with the water park entirely outside surrounded by tons of small pools. There are a great variety of slides, my favorites being the dual super-fast racing slides (careful, this could give you a major wedgie. No, I’m not even kidding) and the very big and tall looming slide dubbed “The Leap of Faith.” This slide tops all water slides. It is a 60- feet tall water slide that is almost straight up and down. In other words there is no angle to it, just a straight down drop. When going down it your body literally free falls until the very end then shoots you through a tube that is in the middle of a shark tank. Very, very cool. And then for those looking for a nice relaxing ride, there is a tube slide that goes through a tunnel in a huge shark tank. As you ride along in your safe little pathway, all around are neat looking sharks swimming on all sides of you. This place is definitely a great place to go. • Florida- plain old, cliche Florida. Still darn fun to swim and enjoy the warm weather. • Wisconsin Dells- Not exactly warm, but definitely great. Awesome hotel that goes along with a gigantic indoor water park. A great place also for a long weekend. ~ continued on next page~ 5 Entertainment: • Video games- Xbox 360 owners rejoice! After the Xbox 360 launch, new games other than the launch games were very scarce. Finally, another batch of titles are out right in time for spring break. I recommend Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter that boasts awesome graphics and great game play. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion is also a great RPG. Even non-RPG fans could find something to like. Create your own character from scratch and pretty much do whatever you want. There is a story and missions but you are not necessarily bound to them. Again, two great titles for Xbox 360. Don’t forget about all the other new games coming out for other systems, including the long awaited Metroid Prime Hunters for DS with unbelievable online multiplayer. Daxter for the PSP is also a great buy with great graphics and simple but addicting game play. • Movies- many great movies have come out over the past few weeks. Here are the ones that I think you should see. • V for Vendetta (viewer discretion advised)- tells the story of a “terrorist/resister” named code name V (Hugo Weaving) who is tired of the overpowering “government” of future London. A girl named Evey (Natalie Portman) is caught in his plot against the government and plays a big role in the story. Great action and a suspenseful story, this is definitely a must see. • Pink Panther- Detective Clouseau (Steve Martin) is back! Can he find the Pink Panther diamond and discover who murdered of the owner of this rare diamond with his weird antics? Find out in this great comedy. • 16 Blocks- a burnt-out cop is given the assignment of transporting a witness to court. Who ever thought 16 blocks would be hard to cross? On the way, the cop encounters many people who want the witness dead. What did the witness witness? Why do these people want him dead? Who is this cop really? Are you still reading? Just kidding. Anyway, go see the movie and be shocked! Have a Great Spring Break! 6 Quiz: What would be your perfect summer job? A summer job--the perfect way to rake in cash!
