Book your blood test online @ Royal Free Hospital Information for patients From 21 November 2019, the Royal Free Hospital, part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, adult blood test service will be by appointment. This leaflet sets out how you can book a blood test at the Royal Free Hospital. How can I book a blood test? You can book your blood test online from 1 November 2019, for appointments on and after 21 November 2019. This is a free booking service. Please follow the steps below to book your test online: 1. Go to: www.royalfree.nhs.uk/adult-blood-tests and click on the link to the booking system 2. Select your appointment type. 3. Choose the time you would like to come in. 4. Register your details (please note that you will only have to do this the first time you book a blood test and you can use the same log-in details if you need to book another test later). What do I do if I cannot book my blood test online? If you are unable to book your blood test online, please call the trust to make your appointment on: 020 7443 9757 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). A guide to where you will have your operation Information for patients The opening of the new Chase Farm Hospital later this year has given us a fantastic opportunity to use our hospitals in a different way to deliver world class care to our patients. A key opportunity we have is to change the way we use operating theatres across our hospitals to improve care. To do this, over the next few months we’ll be bringing our specialist teams even closer together to perform operations. This will give our patients the best care and experience for the type of treatment they need. What is changing? We will be moving some of our elective (planned) surgical work to Chase Farm Hospital. This will help us to free up space at Barnet Hospital for medical and surgical emergencies and at the Royal Free Hospital for specialist services. These changes will help us use our facilities and staff in the most effective and efficient way. Chase Farm Hospital will be the main location for elective surgery for the following services: • orthopaedics • ear, nose and throat • maxillofacial • general surgery • gynaecology The Royal Free Hospital will be the main location for specialist surgery, for example breast, vascular, colorectal and transplant surgery. What does this mean for you? Patients who need an operation will have their surgery at the best hospital for their needs – this means you may have your operation at a different hospital to where you have your out-patient appointment or follow-up care. If you have other medical conditions, these will be carefully considered when deciding which hospital is the most appropriate location for your operation.

Alan McGlennan - Medical Director Royal Free London Hospital (RFL) Questions and Answers: Q1 - I would like an update on getting blood tests in Enfield A - NMUH Urgent blood tests requested by GP’s are still taking place. We will also start providing blood tests clinics at Forest Road primary care centre. From mid- July they will be opening at hub for blood taking at Selby Centre to help clear the backlog that wasn’t completed during the peak of the Coronavirus outbreak. We are continuing to look at community venues to reduce infection control, and make sure it’s as safe as possible to have that test. A - RFL the adult out-patient services at Chase Farm Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital remain open for urgent blood tests and for those patients who need to come in for regular tests such as medication monitoring. The adult out-patient blood taking services at Barnet Hospital and Edgware Community Hospital remain closed. An appointment must be booked for all tests. Patients cannot walk-in to our hospitals. They must bring their booking confirmation text/email to their appointment as they will not be able to enter our hospitals without this. More details are on our website. The children’s out-patient blood taking service at Chase Farm Hospital is open for urgent and routine tests.
