One week until the Savannah Golf Championship Join us next week at the second annual Savannah Golf Championship as the next generation of PGA TOUR stars take on The Landings Club – Deer Creek Course. Gates are open every day of competition starting on Thursday at 7 AM. Don’t miss ‘Schooner Cove’ on the fifth hole featuring dollar beers, music and food trucks. One-dollar beers will be available for five minutes every time a birdie is made on the 320-yard par-4. Be sure to check out all other tournament activations including the Military Appreciation Ceremony, Music on the Lawn and the Family Fun Zone presented by Morris & Templeton Insurance. 2. Local stars set to compete in Savannah Several players with Georgia ties will compete at the Savannah Golf Championship. University of Georgia alumni and Lee McCoy are in the field along with Georgia Tech’s Paul Haley, Nicholas Thompson and Vincent Whaley. Current Georgia residents Michael Hebert, Rick Lamb, , David Skinns and Drew Weaver will also compete next week. Joining them will be Savannah’s own Mark Silvers who was awarded a sponsor’s exemption from Web.com into the event.

3. earns first PGA TOUR victory at Savannah Golf Championship Media Day guest, Keith Mitchell, captured his first PGA TOUR victory last month at The Honda Classic. The former University of Georgia standout edged out and with a birdie on his 72nd hole to secure the win. Mitchell earned his PGA TOUR card through the 2017 Web.com Tour Finals. He followed his maiden victory with a T6 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and now sits 14th in the FedExCup standings.

4. Web.com Tour alum finish strong at Several Web.com Tour alumni were in contention last weekend at THE PLAYERS Championship led by , who finished solo-second and claimed his best PGA TOUR result since 2016. , and all earned top-10 finishes, highlighted by Vegas’ 70-foot birdie conversion on No. 17 where he recorded the longest putt on the island green in tournament history. Playing in their first PLAYERS Championship, Abraham Ancer and Joel Dahmen both finished T12 at TPC Sawgrass.
