A key to the genera is included and distribution records are provided at the prefecture level. Two genera (Baryproctus Ashmead and Dioxybracon Granger) are recorded for the first time from Japan, with the species Baryproctus barypus (Marshall) and Dioxybracon koshunensis (Watanabe) comb. nov. (= Bracon koshunensis Watanabe). The two species Stenobracon oculatus and Chelonogastra formosana are excluded from the Japanese species list. -

Nat. Croat., Vol. 30, No. 1, 37–52, 2021, Zagreb. From 2016 to 2020 numerous surveys were undertaken to improve the knowledge of the pyraloid moth fauna of Biokovo Nature Park. On August 27th, 2020 one specimen of Psorosa mediterranella (Amsel, 1954) from the family Pyralidae was collected on a small meadow (985 m a.s.l.) on Mt Biok- ovo. In this paper, the first data about the occurrence of this species in Croatia are presented. The previ- ous mention in the literature for Croatia was considered to be a misidentification of the past and has thus not been included in the checklist of Croatian pyraloid moth species. P. mediterranella was recorded for the first time in Croatia in recent investigations and, after other additions to the checklist have been counted, is the 396th species in the Croatian pyraloid moth fauna. An overview of the overall pyraloid moth fauna of Croatia is given in the updated species list. Eggs laid singly, conical in shape and white in Department of Entomology, colour with length and width varied from 0.35 - 0.45 mm and 0.18 - 0.25 mm, respectively. Incubation CCS HAU, Hisar, Haryana, period varied from 2.32 to 2.42 days and viability of eggs varied from 73.34 - 90.00 percent. There were India five larval instars and total larval period varied from 9.88 to 13.08 days. The pupal period lasted from 5.25 to 7.25 days. The average length and breadth of pupa was 7.29 ± 0.32 and 1.26 ± 0.29 mm. Percent Sunita Yadav adult emergence ranged from 70.00 to 85.00 with an average of 76.00 ± 6.51. We discuss the status of Ectomyelois that has been treated as a junior synonym by previous authors; we treat it as a valid genus, revised status, based on characters of the venation and female genitalia. Photographs of the adults and illustrations of the genitalia are given, along with a key to the three known Chinese species. -

Surely no one who was on deck when the " Kildonan Castle " anchored in Table Bay will forget the impressive scene. Behind the town-lights which gleamed along the front the grand mass of Table Mountain, clear cut against a streak of dawn, lay under the Southern Cross and Magellanic Clouds, while in the opposite quarter Jupiter and Venus shone brilliant beyond our experience, the latter reflected in the sea, and Orion standing on his head demonstrated that we were indeed in a Southern land. These astronomical facts had a bearing on our entomological operations, since we had to grow accus- tomed to the fact that the most promising hunting-grounds were slopes with a north-cast aspect. Faithful to our own science rather than to the associa- tion of which we were members, we had decided to go on to Durban by the same steamer, and put in as many days collecting as possible on the Natal Coast.
