• U-13/14 - players born after January 1, 2000 • Full-time players • not eligible for any outside competition • may not play or practice with middle school or high school • required to start in at least 25% of their team’s Academy games • added players must start at least 25% of the remaining Academy games • Dual age group • Emphasize long-term player development • “Play-up” opportunities • Focus on potential vs. physical maturity ACADEMY DEVELOPMENT PLAYERS

• Must be a currently registered player on an Academy Club’s non- Academy Team • Must have been registered with that Academy Club between August 1 and January 31 of current Academy Seasonal year • May not be registered with any two different clubs at the same time during the Academy Seasonal year • Not subject to the Minimum Start Requirement • May appear in a maximum of six (6) Academy games per season. • Can only change their status to full-time once during the Academy season, and they cannot return to developmental player status. • Attract the top players from northern and central Virginia • Produce at least one Youth National Team player each year • Attain Five-Star rating on U.S. Soccer Evaluation • Gain acceptance into full Development Academy (U-15/16 & U-17/18) • Directly affect and improve the daily environment for ALL Prince William Courage players and coaches PRINCE WILLIAM COURAGE US Club Soccer National Premier League US CLUB SOCCER 10-YEAR VISION • The National Premier League is an important component of US Club Soccer’s 10-year vision to refine the landscape for competitive youth soccer • The latest of these programs are the National Premier Leagues (NPL), which are being created throughout the country • to provide high level competition in given geographic areas • to elevate and change the competitive youth landscape based upon US Club Soccer’s fundamental principles • extend developmental principals espoused by the USSDA • into younger age groups • additional clubs • providing a platform for long-term player development. US CLUB SOCCER 10-YEAR VISION This vision recognizes that: • Properly-structured youth soccer clubs are the vehicle through which player development does and must occur in the U.S. • Clubs and their leadership should be the primary decision-makers in the structure and organization of soccer • USCS should provide leadership and a vehicle for clubs to work together to elevate the game & player development environment • National Premier Leagues, as well as the best clubs, should be integrated in US Club Soccer’s id2 National Identification and Development Program, include Player Development Programs (PDPs) in select local markets, and work closely with U.S. Soccer staff regarding player identification, and player/coach development NPL PURPOSE & GOALS The US Club Soccer National Premier Leagues are created to provide national competition developmental platforms: • focused on long-term player development • for the country’s top soccer CLUBS, allowing meaningful games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios • that allows players to be scouted and evaluated by U.S. Soccer National Staff and Technical Advisors • designed and structured by the clubs, based on their needs • using international rules of competition • that provide an avenue for qualification for the National Premier Leagues Champions Cup, featuring qualifiers from every NPL across the country in a true “champions league” competition US CLUB SOCCER id2 The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program as approved by the USOC and U.S. Soccer Federation.
