October 11-14, 2018 TPC Kuala Lumpur COMMITTEEVOLUNTEER DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW Welcome to the 9th edition of the CIMB Classic, which will be held at TPC Kuala Lumpur from October 11-14, 2018 and continues to be the PGA TOUR’s only official FedExCup event in Southeast Asia. We will once again welcome an exciting and star-studded field of 78 players, with 60 coming from the PGA TOUR, 10 from the Asian Tour, which is a co-sanction partner and 8 sponsor’s exemptions, including two (2) Malaysians, competing for prize money of US$7 million. Since its first staging in 2010, the tournament has attracted world class professional golfers such as Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, Ryo Ishikawa, Justin Thomas and defending champion Pat Perez. The CIMB Classic, being one of most prestigious and biggest sporting events in the region, has undoubtedly boosted Malaysia’s position as a golf tourism destination, attracting an audience from all over Asia annually. PGA TOUR events are dependent on the dedication and abilities of its volunteers as it takes hundreds of volunteers and thousands of hours of support to ensure the success of the CIMB Classic. Volunteer applications are now being accepted online at http://www.pgatour.com/tournaments/cimb-classic.html. When registering online, select your committee and the shifts that you will work. To help your chances of receiving your top choice committee and shifts, it is better to register earlier rather than later.
