ILS Law College, Pune “Remembering S.P. Sathe Symposium On Current Trends In Indian Criminal Justice System on 13– 14 February 2016” Profile of Resource Persons: Mr. Justice B. N. Srikrishna Justice B. N. Srikrishna is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. He is currently the chairman of Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC). He has headed various commissions such as the 'Commission of Inquiry' set up to investigate into the Bombay riots of 1992- 93, which became known to all as the Srikrishna Commission. He then headed a one man commission to inquire about the Madras High Court riots of 2009. In 2010, he was appointed as the Chairman of a five member committee called the Srikrishna committee that was constituted to look into the demand for separate statehood for Telangana. Hon’ble Mr. Justice U U Lalit Hon’ble Mr. Justice U U Lalit was designated as a Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court. He has been the Special Public Prosecutor in the 2G Scam. He has represented the BJP President, Mr. Amit Shah in the encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati in Gujarat, former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh in a corruption case, Navjot Singh Sidhu in a culpable homicide and Salman Khan in the Black Buck poaching case. He was elevated to be a judge at the Supreme Court in 2014. Hon’ble Ms. Justice Mridula Bhatkar Justice Mridula Bhatkar, an alumnus of ILS Law College, Pune enrolled as an Advocate on February 10, 1982 and has practiced in Pune District in the Civil, Criminal and Family Courts. -

ILS Law College Advocacy Skills Activities 2013-14 Advocacy Skills Activities include Moot Courts, Trials, Client Counseling, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Drafting, Judgment Writing Deliberation, Treaty Appreciation, Paper Presentation, Bill Analysis Competition, Parliamentary Debate, Group Discussion, Essay Competitions and Quizzes, and Law Fests. This academic year has witnessed achievements which made us proud of-. Moot Court Competitions: 15 Wins, 7 Runners-up, 7 Semi-finalists, - 8 Best Speakers, - 4 Second Best Speaker, - 8 Best Memorials, - 4 Best Researchers, and -5 Other Prizes or Positions. Trial Competition: - 1 Winner, 1 Runners Up Judgment Deliberation: 1 Best judgment Bill Analysis Competition: 1 Winners position Legislation Drafting – 1 Winner Position Legal Quiz: 1 Runner-up Total prize money won: Rs 2,78,000 Activities and Student Involvement In 2013-14 a large group of students participated in various International, National and State Level Competitions and exposed to hard test of intelligence and skills. More than 235 ILS students represented ILS Law College as speakers, researchers and participants in 104 Moot Court Competitions (including one competition outside India) 4 Trial Competitions, 3Client Counseling Competitions, 1 Negotiation, 1 Mediation, 3 Drafting Competition, 4 Judgment Deliberation Competitions, 1 Bill Analysis Competition, 1 Essay Competitions, 3 Law Fests. 94 students gave support for research.
