During March of 2020, Desert Adventures proactively implemented enhanced safety measures across all aspects of our business to ensure we were completely prepared to safely welcome our guests into our destinations once international travel resumed. PCR Testing For Tourists Departing The UAE Prior to boarding their return flight, passengers may face additional screening procedures based on their destination, which can include PCR testing within a certain time period. UAE has one the largest and most advanced network of healthcare facilities in the region, which offer internationally-recognized PCR tests. All of these facilities welcome international visitors, who only require their passports in order to be tested. Cost per test ranges from USD 40 to 100, depending on the facility. 5. Hotels On June 5, 2020, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority launched an integrated health and safety advisory for all hotel establishments across the country which include the following mandatory protocols: • All hotel staff that is not fully vaccinated will undergo a PCR test every 15 days. • Infrared temperature scanners will be provided along with thermal cameras, with the staff’s body temperatures checked multiple times per day. • Hotel establishment premises will be sanitized regularly following the Government standards of sanitization and disinfection program, which will be documented and reported to the authorities in accordance with regulations. • All hotel establishments have to dedicate isolation rooms near their main entrances where any guests exhibiting virus symptoms are to be isolated immediately. • Personal Protection Equipment (masks & gloves) are mandatory for all staff and guests in all common areas of the premise. Hand sanitizer or disinfectant will be placed and marked clearly around the hotel. • Social distancing (minimum 2 meters between individuals) is to be applied at any queuing location. • Restaurants, cafes, gym halls, and swimming pools will have a predetermined cap on capacity. Users of these facilities may have their temperatures checked before entry. • Swimming pools and beaches must be sanitized regularly and hotels must erect signs reminding guests about physical distancing. 7. Retail & Dining All retail and dining establishments across the UAE are fully operational, with strict safety guidelines in place. This includes all shopping malls, individual retail stores, souqs, dine-in restaurants, food courts, cafes, bars, beach clubs, lounges, and shisha cafes. Night clubs have not yet been permitted to open. All retail and dining establishments are enforcing the following protocols: • Thermal temperature scanner installed at all entrances • Availability of hand sanitizers in all areas • Enforcing the use of face masks for all staff and visitors • Instructional markers notifying visitors of social distancing requirements • Separate doors for entrance and exit (For malls and large retail outlets only) In addition, all dining establishment must adhere to the following government- mandated safety guidelines: • Restaurants can seat a maximum of 10 people per table. • Dining tables must be distanced 3m apart or be separated by dividers. • All food contact equipment, surfaces and utensils are to undergo deep sanitization prior to food preparation for the public and after each use. • Staff are mandated to wear mask and gloves at all times. • Alcohol can only be served with food at the table. 1. Summary Oman’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic was immediate and comprehensive, having started with strict lockdown measures, which grounded flights and restricted internal movement. An extensive national disinfection program was launched at the start of the lockdown period that lasted for over 3 months. Oman has implemented robust safety and screening measures across all sectors to ensure everyone within its borders can safely conduct all activities. 2. Enhanced Entry Requirements (UPDATED) As of September 02, 2021 passengers entering the country will be required to follow the below procedures: • All travelers coming to the Sultanate of Oman are required to present a Covid-19 vaccination certificate that includes a QR Code and states that they have received 2 doses of one of the following approved vaccines: Pfizer BioNTech, Oxford AstraZeneca, Covisheild AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Sinovac, Moderna, and Sinopharm, or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson. The last dose is required to have been taken at least 14 days prior to arrival in Oman. • All travelers who present a pre-travel negative PCR test (taken within 96 hours of arrival for long-haul flights and 72 hours for flights shorter than 8 hours) are exempt from quarantine upon arrival in Oman. Those who do not perform a PCR test will be required to perform one at the airport in Oman upon arrival, and will have to quarantine until their test results have been issued. • Before boarding the aircraft, all passengers must pre-register themselves on the eMushrif Platform to upload the vaccine certificate as well as the COVID-19 PCR certificate, both of which must contain QR Codes. A registration fee (USD 6.5) is applicable when registering each passenger on the platform. • Travelers below 18 and passengers with medically confirmed health conditions that prevents them from taking the vaccination are exempt from presenting COVID-19 vaccine certificate and PCR test certificate.

2. Airports & Flights

Currently all international airports in Oman are operating with full operational capabilities, after having implemented advanced safety protocols with include thermal screenings, PCR testing facilities, and high-grade sterilization equipment.

Oman Air has taken great measures to ensure passenger safety is a top priority, having and increased their flight network with more destinations to be added in the near future. Currently, all airlines operating out of Oman are limited to 2 - 5 scheduled flights per week, until further evaluations of travel safety are complete.

To enhance traveller confidence in the destination, Oman Air has introduced its own free Covid-19 coverage program for all of their passengers who book their tickets by 31 March 2021.

Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes & Malls On June 20th, 2020, Oman’s Ministry of Tourism issued detailed safety guidelines for the hospitality sector, in order to prepare the industry for the return of tourism. The following general guidelines are applicable to all hotels, resorts, restaurants, cafes and malls in Oman: • Contactless temperature screenings must be conducted upon entry into all establishments. • Clear signage with safety instructions must be displayed at the entrance. • Hand sanitizers must be made available in commonly accessible areas, such as entrances, corridors, near elevators, etc. • Guests are required to always wear a mask in all common areas of an establishment. • Staff are required to always wear mask and gloves, maintain a minimum 2m physical distance from guests at all times, and be trained on preventative measures to ensure guest and staff safety at all times. • Floor signage must be clearly displayed in all common areas and queuing zones, that indicates the minimum distance required between each individual/group. • Elevators must clearly indicate maximum capacity restrictions in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines. • Cash payments must be kept to a minimum. • Any suspected cases should immediately be isolated, while ensuring they wear the required personal protection equipment and be transported to the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort nearest health facility as quickly as possible. 1. Summary Jordan went through one of the strictest lockdown restrictions in the region, which has allowed the country to keep the spread of the virus under relative control. The Ministry of Health and Royal Medical Services continue to actively monitor the situation and are working with the World Health Organization and other international partners, to ensure travel into the country is one of the safest in the world. Upon announcing the reopening of the borders, Jordan was awarded with the Safe Travels Stamp from the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). All major tourism activities including the hospitality and retail sector are operational with strict safety guidelines that have been issued by the Ministry Of Tourism and Antiquities. Restaurants and major tourist sites are currently operational with a 50% capacity limit. Masks, social distancing and temperature checks are mandatory in hotels, restaurants and attractions.
