“I am always impressed what we can accomplish as a group in seven short weeks of rehearsal,” said Director Emily Howard. “I am very proud of this cast taking on such a challenging show. !ere are many moments that require a level of focus and acting that we haven't had in recent Middle School productions. !e actors are really stepping up and working hard. I am happy that over half of the cast and crew are experiencing their very first theatrical production! I am confident that this group will come together to share this story with audiences this weekend. “

“Once On !is Island, Jr.” tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl, who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. !roughout the story, four powerful “gods” that represent love, death, earth, and water guide Ti Moune on her journey. !e ensemble serves as the Storytellers bringing the audiences along for the ride,” Howard said. Brooke Hartpence, NMS vocal music teacher, is the vocal music director for the show. NMS Stefan Uveges, an NMS English teacher is the assistant director. Howard is also the choreographer.
