The Germans won their only match this season against Benjamin with Hevaldo Moreira in Shanghai and defeated Salgado and Pedro Cunha three times in Rome (gold), Myslowice and Stavanger (worlds). · Brink and Reckermann are competing together for the first-time in 2009. The pair has won fdour SWATCH gold medals this season with seven-straight “final four” finishes together before finishing ninth last week in Klagenfurt. · Brink and Reckermann won a record 25-straight SWATCH matches to break the FIVB record of 22-straight wins by Emanuel Rego and Jose Loiola in 1999. After winning No. 25 in Marseille by defeating Renato "Geor" Gomes/Jorge "Gia" Terceiro of Gerogia (13-21, 21-16, 20-18, 74 minutes), the Germans lost in the French semi-final to Americans Phil Dalhausser/Todd Rogers (18-21, 15-21, 48). · By winning the Moscow Grand Slam July 19, Brink and Reckermann became the first German team to win three-straight SWATCH FIVB World Tour events with the first two titles being in Stavanger for the world championships following by the Swiss Grand Slam in Gstaad. · Brink and Reckermann became the first European team to win the SWATCH FIVB World Championships by winning the 2009 event on July 5 in Stavanger, Norway, by defeating Alison Cerutti and Harley Marques of Brazil in the finals. · Brink and Reckermann won a European tour event this season in Berlin after placing second in the first two stops in Gran Canaria, Spain, and Baden, Austria. The Germans have a 15-2 European tour match mark with a pair of semi-final wins over compatriots David Klemperer and Eric Koreng in Baden and Berlin. · Brink and Christoph Dieckmann placed 19th at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. · Brink won a gold medal with Christoph Dieckmann at the 2006 European continental Championships in The Hague, · Netherlands. · Brink and Christoph Dieckmann captured three SWATCH FIVB World Tour and five European Tour gold medals. · Brink and Kjell Schneider captured a SWATCH FIVB World Tour gold medal at a 2005 stop in Espinho, Portugal. · Brink and Schneider also placed third at the 2005 SWATCH FIVB World Championships in Berlin and the Paris Grand Slam stop. · Reckermann placed ninth at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games with Markus Dieckmann. · Brink and Markus Dieckmann captured two SWATCH FIVB World Tour and two European Tour gold medals. · Reckermann won a gold medal with Markus Dieckmann at the 2002 AND 2004 European continental Championships at Basel, Switzerland, and Timmendorfer Strand, Germany, respectively. · Reckermann ranks 20th in career FIVB earnings (US$489,278) to lead all German players followed by Brink ($459,110, 22nd). · Reckermann has earned the most podium placements among Germany players all-time on the SWATCH FIVB World Tour with 22, including six gold, 11 silver and four bronze medals. · Reckermann has the most German semi-final appearances at 28 with Brink second at 27.
