The Disert Heritage Group and the Institute of Technology, Sligo will be leading a free guided tour of the Disert archaeological complex on Monday, August 20 as part of National Heritage Week. As part of the implementation of the County Donegal Heritage Plan, Donegal County Council in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council, Foras na Gaeilge and The Heritage Council has commissioned Abarta Heritage to undertake an audit of cultural heritage associated with St. Colmcille in preparation for the 1,500th anniversary of his birth in 2021. If you have information on, or are involved with, heritage sites, artefacts, archives or resources associated with St. Colmcille, please contact the County Donegal Heritage Office. The audit will be completed in mid-November 2018.
