ASSISTANT COACH (DEVELOPMENT) – CANADA SKI CROSS JOB PURPOSE Canada Ski Cross (CSX) is looking for an experienced, passionate and professional coach to fill the role of Assistant Coach with our C & D teams. This coach will work directly with athletes in a centralized program, creating a world leading DTE both on and off snow. The primary focus of the program will be on athlete development as directed by the C & D Team Head Coach and High Performance Director. This position requires the individual to reside in Alberta and will require travel throughout North America for training and competition. Type: Seasonal Full Time – 10 months Reports to: Head Coach (C & D Team) & High Performance Director Location: Alberta (with required travel) ABOUT ALPINE CANADA ALPIN ACA is home to three of the Canada’s fastest and most exciting snow sports: alpine skiing, para-alpine skiing and ski-cross. Our focus is not only to produce world-class athletes, but also to encourage participation in skiing at all levels and promote the benefits that result from participating in sport. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will be a seasonal full time position for a duration of 10 months* *Experience and qualifications will be considered in compensation and contract terms. Primary responsibilities would include: • Working with the Head Coach and other staff in the design and implementation of the DTE • Planning and set up of effective alpine and ski cross DTE • Other work, on and off snow as directed by the Head Coach or HPD • Travel logistics and planning as directed by the Head Coach • Ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes during training camps and events • Tracking, monitoring and reporting of camps and races • Tracking, monitoring and reporting on identified athletes • Timely expense reporting QUALIFICATIONS: • Alpine NCCP Development Level Trained or higher • 2+ years of ski cross coaching experience • Proven track record of coaching in programs with strong athletic performances • Class 4 driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract • Excellent skiing ability and the skills or knowledge to hit large jumps and features (such as in a terrain park) and a ski cross course • Excellent grasp of video analysis software and experience operating timing systems • Excellent skier with the ability of skiing with heavy equipment • Previous racing ski cross racing experience will be considered an asset HOW TO APPLY Please send your cover letter and resume to [email protected] ATTN: Lauren Kucera, Sport Development Manager – Ski Cross.
