    M E D I A A D V I S O R Y ______________________________________________________________________ January 23, 2007 For Immediate Release The Duckworth Challenge: Winnipeg’s Two Universities Battle for Sport Supremacy WINNIPEG — On January 24, 2007 volleyball teams from The University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba will go head-to-head in an ongoing rivalry dubbed the Duckworth Challenge. Participants can get into the spirit of the cross-town rivalry starting at 5:00 p.m. with a real bison burger and a beverage for only $3.00. The games get underway at 6:00 p.m. with the women’s team, followed by the men at 7:30 p.m. The evening’s events will be held at the Duckworth Centre, located at 400 Spence Street at Ellice Avenue. Admission to the game is FREE with a contribution to the UWSA Foodbank. Those who make a donation of a non-perishable food item will also be entered to win a DVD player and other great prizes. Regular admission is $8 (adults), free for children 6 and under, and $3 for UWinnipeg students with a valid student ID card. The Duckworth Challenge began in 1992 as the brainchild of Dr. Henry E. Duckworth (UWinnipeg President, 1971-81 and University of Manitoba Chancellor, 1986-92).
