66th SEASON: 2006 marks the 66th season of Hofstra football. The Pride has posted a .500 or better record in 45 of those seasons. Hofstra has recorded a 386-241-11 record (.614) in its 638 games.

SEASON OPENERS: The Pride has won 22 of their last 24 season openers. In 2002 the University of Montana ended Hofstra's streak of 19 consecutive season opener victories, and the Pride's 255-game non-shutout streak in a 21-0 decision. In 2003 the Pride dropped their season opener at I-A Marshall, 45-21. Hofstra has posted a 41-23-2 all-time record in season openers.

TELEVISION: The Hofstra Pride will have three games televised in the metropolitan area during the 2006 season. In addition to the season opener at Stony Brook on August 31, Fox Sports New York will air the William and Mary game on September 30 as part of the Atlantic 10 package, and the October 7 Homecoming game against Villanova.
