WHY HE’S IMPORTANT:  Turf sprint winner/speedster figures to have a say in the early pace.

 Three-year-olds have won 23 of the 58 runnings of the Spinster, including the last two (Emollient, In Lingerie)

 After losing six straight between 2005 and 2010, favorites have won the last three Spinsters.

 The last time the Spinster produced a Breeders' Cup winner was in 2005 when Pleasant Home won the Distaff after finishing second in the Spinster.

 Only two of the last 10 Spinster winners won their previous race: Pampered Princess (2005) and Mushka (2009). Those coming off wins have accounted for eight of the last 30 runners to hit the Spinster trifecta.

 Six of the last 10 winners exited races at Saratoga, but only Mushka was exiting a win.

 Daughters of have won four of the last five editions of the Spinster.
