SEASON NOTES

THAT’S A WRAP: Here are some notes from the season that just didn’t fit in anywhere else: • The Rockets finished the season with a 17-55 mark after going 44-28 in 2019-20… Houston lost a franchise-record 20 in a row from 2/6-3/3/21 (previous record: 17 games from 1/18-2/16/68)… prior to the 20-game losing streak, the Rockets won seven of eight, including six in a row from 1/22- 2/1… that tied for Houston’s longest winning streak since an 8-game span from 11/4-11/8/19. • Houston was officially eliminated from playoff contention on 4/22… the Rockets were the only team to have made the playoffs in each of the past eight seasons… that also marked the longest postseason streak in franchise history. • The Rockets were 9-27 at home this season, including a franchise-high tying 11 game losing streak from 2/6-3/21 (3/1-4/16/83)… Houston tied for the third-most home victories by any team over the previous seven seasons. • Houston was 8-28 on the road this season… the Rockets lost 10 straight on the road from 2/6-3/26 (longest since a 14-game span from 1/7- 3/17/83)…Houston was 20-16 on the road in 2019-20 (including games as “road” team in Orlando) and had the second-most road wins (98) of any team over the previous four seasons. • The Rockets were 16-10 in games in which they led by 10+ points this season (40-12 in 2019-20)… Houston won by double-digits eight times this season, including by 20+ four times (and by 42 points on 1/8, 8th-biggest win in franchise history)… the Rockets won 22 games by 10+ points last season, including nine by 20+, and were seventh in scoring margin (+2.9 per). • Houston was 5-52 in games in which it trailed by double-digits this season and has lost by double-digits 37 times, including by 20+ 15 times… the Rockets were 14-23 in games in which they trailed by double-digits in 2019-20 and lost by 10+ points 14 times, including 20 or more five times… Houston overcame a 20- deficit in its win vs. Portland on 1/28. • The Rockets were 15-7 when leading at the start of the fourth quarter this season (38-6 in 2019-20) and 2-48 when tied or trailing (6-22 in 2019-20). • Houston was 5-8 in games decided by five or fewer points this season, including 3-4 by three or fewer… the Rockets were 8-7 in games decided by five or fewer points in 2019-20, including 4-5 by three or fewer. • The Rockets only overtime game was a loss in the season opener at Portland… Houston played three overtime games in 2019-20 (2-1 mark). • Houston used 43 different starting lineups in the 72 games this season… 24 different Rockets have started at least one game… the most-used lineup of Wall/Porter/Tate/Olynyk/Wood started six games… 30 different Rockets played at least one game, setting the NBA record for a single season; three other teams used 28 players (Orlando this season; Memphis in 2015-16 and 2018-19). • The Rockets had at least two players score 20+ points in 46 of the 72 games this season, including 3+ players 19 times. • Houston was 4-10 in the second game of back-to-backs this season after going 3-7 in 2019-20.

AIN’T NUTHIN’ BUT A G THANG: Three Rockets were honored for their play during the G League “bubble” experience. Kevin Porter Jr. was named All-NBA G League First Team, KJ Martin earned All-NBA G League All-Rookie honors, and Anthony Lamb was selected as the G League’s Most Improved Player. Porter led the G League in scoring while ranking second in assists.

HIGH/LOW: Of the 19 players on the Rockets final roster, four were top-9 draft picks (John Wall #1, Danté Exum #5, #7, D.J. Augustin #9), three were mid-first round (Kelly Olynyk #13, D.J. Wilson #17, Avery Bradley #19), one was a late first round pick (Kevin Porter Jr. #30), three were second round picks (Khyri Thomas #38, Sterling Brown #46, KJ Martin #52), and eight were undrafted (Armoni Brooks, Jr., Anthony Lamb, Cam Reynolds, , Cameron Oliver, Jae’Sean Tate, Christian Wood).

END OF AN ERA: James Harden left the Rockets as the second leading scorer in franchise history with 18,365 points. He was an All-Star in each of his first eight seasons, earned First Team All-NBA honors in six of the past seven seasons, and was named MVP in 2017-18. In 621 starts with Houston, Harden averaged 29.6 points, 7.7 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals. The Rockets won 63.5% of their games during his tenure and advanced to the Western Conference Finals twice.
