He is a retired longtime administrator with the County of Onondaga and the father of two children, George III and Melissa. He has been a member of the CoUnty RepUblican Committee for over 25 years and cUrrently serves, with his wife Carol, on the Town of Camillus RepUblican Committee. His first campaign role was as a yoUth volUnteer with the William Walsh for SyracUse Mayor campaign in 1961; he has been an active veteran of numerous campaigns at the local, state, and federal level since that time. Mary Kendrick Gaffney, Administrative Director & SchedUler – Gaffney is a SyracUse native and longtime resident of Skaneateles. She is an attorney and practiced as a law clerk and partner at Smith Sovik Kendrick & Sugnet, P.C. Her former practice inclUded appellate and mUnicipal law. Gaffney and her hUsband, Joe, are the parents of foUr daughters. Active in the commUnity, Gaffney’s volunteer service inclUdes being a Board Member and volUnteer at the Samaritan Center, fUndraiser for Catholic Charities Vincent House and Vera HoUse, a jail minister and a committee person on the Town of Skaneateles RepUblican Committee. Christian Ragosta, Operations Director – Ragosta is a gradUate of TUlly High School and SUNY Geneseo. He joins the campaign as a senior staffer in the New York State Assembly. He has considerable campaign experience and got his start in local politics rUnning the campaign of Onondaga County Legislator David Knapp (12th District). He began his post-college career as a staffer for then U.S. Rep. Deborah Pryce (R-Ohio) in Washington. Justin Sayles, Special Initiatives Director – Sayles is a Town of Onondaga native and gradUate of Christian Brothers Academy and SUNY Albany. In college, he interned for Assemblyman Will Barclay (120th District). Sayles has run multiple campaigns for local office and will soon leave his position in the Office of Onondaga CoUnty ExecUtive Joanie Mahoney to join the campaign fUll-time. Erin O’Connor, CommUnications Director – O’Connor is a SyracUse native and gradUate of Westhill High School and Le Moyne College. She will receive her J.D. from SyracUse University College of Law later this month. Ms. O’Connor began her career as Assistant CommUnications Director for State Senator John DeFrancisco (50th District). While in law school, she served as a law clerk and legal extern for SUNY Upstate Medical University, the Honorable John Cherundolo, and two leading law firms. “When I annoUnced my candidacy for Congress, I pledged to rUn a local campaign based on local issues advancing local interests and needs,” said John Katko. “That starts with a strong local team. Central New York prodUces the best and the brightest, and I am honored many of them have joined the Katko for Congress campaign.” A native of Onondaga County, John Katko, 51, is a longtime federal prosecUtor who left his position earlier this year to run full-time for Congress. A fresh face and first time candidate for elective office, John is a thoUghtful, responsive, and independent pUblic servant who will continUe to fight for every Central New York family as oUr local Representative in Washington. John and his wife Robin – a registered nUrse – reside in his hometown of Camillus with their three sons. Sean is a student at SUNY Buffalo while sons Logan and Liam attend West Genesee public schools. Katko is rUnning on the RepUblican, Conservative, and Independence Party ballot lines in November.
