MEET THE WOLVES (Week 10)

This week on “Meet the Wolves,” we are introducing Drew McKnight. Drew is a 17-year-old junior who plays the at the guard position for the Wolves. He is from Lafayette, Louisiana, and is the son of and Mike and Lanie and the brother to Cameron McKnight. Drew is another guard that can really get after it on the defensive side, really putting pressure on the opponent’s ball handlers. To get to know a little more about Drew, he was asked the following questions:

What is it about that made you want to play in high school? Drew found a love for basketball at a young age as he stated he wanted to play high-school ball because he has been playing since he was a little kid.

What is your favorite or funniest SPS basketball memory so far? Like several of his teammates, Drew’s favorite memory so far is taking home the CYO championship crown this year.

What are you looking forward to the most for this season? Any goals? Drew is mostly looking forward to becoming closer with his teammates this year. He also has his eyes set on winning a district and a state championship.

How do you want your teammates to remember you? Drew stated that he would like to be remembered as a teammate who could be relied on as a team player.

If you could create a signature shoe, what would it be called? Drew, getting inspiration from his position and guard play style said that his signature shoe would be called “The Dimers.” This shoe will not only improve your court vision, but will also significantly aid in your ability to get assists. With these shoes, it appears that Drew is looking to break some all-time records!

Are you more of a round earth guy, or do you agree with that the Earth is flat? Drew also debates against the NBA , Kyrie Irving, as he too firmly believes that the Earth is round. This debate is beginning to become more and more one sided as the weeks go by!

Who is your favorite member of the Ball family and why? (Lavar, LaMelo, LiAngelo, Lonzo) Drew is another one of the few that is mostly a fan of LaMelo Ball. Drew is a fan of the baby brother because he likes LaMelo’s style of play, and thinks LaMelo will be very good in the NBA.

Do you have any plans after high school? Drew also being a junior, still has some time to think about his future after high-school. That being said, Drew is already interested in attending LSU for college, but still is unsure on what exactly it is he would like to study.
