Davis is a native of Lund, Sweden who has lived and worked in the United States since 1998. Her exhibition “Witnesses” is currently on display at House of Sweden, and previous collections have been exhibited in solo and group shows at venues including The Corcoran Gallery of Art, The Longview Gallery, and IA&A at Hillyer in Washington, D.C. Anna’s exploration of identity is rendered in mixed media paintings and sculptures that juxtapose cartoonish “Frocasian” characters (an amalgam of Afro and Caucasian) with intricate collage work. Davis has been recognized with a grant from the Pollack- Krasner Foundation and has received multiple Artist Fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts. Falkholt is a native of Gothenburg, Sweden currently in residence at the International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York City. Since the late 1990s, Falkholt’s practice of street art and graffiti has expanded on the art form by inviting collaborations with other artistic disciplines, including music, sculpture, and performance art. A process-based multidisciplinary artist, Carolina tends to work on large-scale, site-specific projects addressing personal biography, contemporary social issues, and local history. Her work has been included in multiple museum exhibitions, most recently in Wanås Konst, Gothenburg Museum of Art, and Eskilstuna Art Museum. She is represented by Galleri Thomassen in Sweden. IA&A fulfills its mission by providing programs and services to artists, arts institutions, cultural organizations, and the public. House of Sweden is located at 2900 K St. NW.
