The National Collegiate Athletic Association January 11, 2010 SKT 2009-10 COMMITTEE ON COMPETITIVE SAFEGUARDS AND MEDICAL ASPECTS OF SPORTS Legislated 20 members total, including five positions allocated for men, five allocated for women. One student-athlete from each division shall serve as a member of the Requirements: committee. In Division II and Division III at least one representative will be a member of the Management Council as addressed in Bylaw 21.8 and 21.6. In Division I all subdivisions must be represented. • 2 AD or SWA (1 M/ 1F); • 1 coach; • 1 exercise physiology research; • 3 medicine (at least 1 F, 1 primary-care team • 1 M and 1 F athletic trainer (one must be responsible • 1 law; physician and 1 board-certified orthopedist); for total athletic training program); • 1 sports medicine research; • 1 Football Rules Committee; • 1 secondary school representative; • At least 5 M/5 W; • 2 at-large; • 1 drug testing experience • 1 expertise in drug education Policies: At least nine Division I members (all subdivisions), two Division II members, and two Division III members. CHAIR 1/06 – All divisions approved a proposal that would allow the committee chair’s term to be extended if he was appointed as chair with one year of LEGISLATION: less remaining on his or her four-year term. Vacancies: Three September 2010 Division I vacancies. Any subdivision. Two primary care team physicians (one female); one athletic trainer (male).
