IN NOVEMBER 2016 Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Producing Artistic Director, André Bishop) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, indefinitely at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).     NATIONAL THEATRE PRESENTS UK PREMIERE OF THE LINCOLN CENTER THEATER PRODUCTION OF OSLO AT THE LYTTELTON THEATRE, TRANSFERRING TO THE HAROLD PINTER THEATRE, IN THE WEST END The National Theatre today (6 April 2017) announced the UK premiere of Lincoln Center Theater’s critically acclaimed production of OSLO, a gripping new play by J T Rogers, directed by Bartlett Sher which is currently in previews at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Broadway. OSLO has a strictly limited run at the NT’s Lyttelton Theatre from 5 – 23 September, and will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End from 30 September to 30 December 2017 in association with ATG. Press night 12 September at the National Theatre. OSLO tells the true story of how one young couple, Norwegian diplomat Mona Juul and her husband, social scientist Terje Rød-Larsen planned and orchestrated top-secret, high-level meetings between the State of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organisation, which culminated in the signing of the historic 1993 Oslo Accords. A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare features a cast of 36 led by Tina Benko as Titania, Max Casella as Bottom, David Harewood as Oberon and Kathryn Hunter as Puck. Previews begin previews October 19, for an opening November 2. Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz explained, “Julie and Elliot are innovative, adventurous artists. We first worked together in 1984 on a 60-minute version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Theatre for a New Audience presented at the Public Theater. Twenty-nine years later, it’s thrilling they are directing and composing our first full production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the inaugural presentation in our first permanent home.” Theatre for a New Audience just named its building Polonsky Shakespeare Center in recognition of a $10 million gift from the Polonsky Foundation.
