Movie Makers, the film stars Mahesh Babu, Kajal Aggarwal and Prakash Raj in the lead roles, while Nassar, Sayaji Sinde, Raza Murad, Subbaraju and Brahmaji play supporting roles. The film shows the dialogue in Telugu, despite the backdrop of Mumbai, for the convenience of the audience, and the refusal at the beginning of the film is given as a matter of the same. The film follows Vijay Surya alias Surya Bhai: a ruthless man who arrives from southern India to Mumbai with aspirations to rule them, just as Mumbai police declare the end of the Mafia Raj. He begins his journey by helping local politics and capturing the daughter of the city commissioner. As he becomes a massive savior with the help of his gang, his real intentions and personal grievances against the corrupt established system get stressed on. However, he faces violent problems from his enemies and police, whom he allegedly respects. S. Tamanu composed the music for the film, and Shyam K. Naidoo was the cameraman of the film. The film was shot with a budget of ₹400 million dollars and was officially launched on August 15, 2011 in Hyderabad. The main photograph began on September 2, 2011 and was taken in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Goa. Several songwriting sequences were filmed in Bangkok. Filming ended on December 10, 2011 in 74 working days, one of the shortest periods in which Telugu's film was shot. Released during Sankranthi on January 13, 2012. It grossed more than ₹700 million and grossed a distribution stake in ₹448 million, becoming one of Telugu's highest-grossing films of 2012. The film was remade in Bengali as a boss in 2013. Surya deceives the men, believing that he is a guide, send them to help. He puts the bomb in food, which explodes, which leads to a firefight. Running away, Surya sees Chitra, who has now learned of his true nature. When he is arrested, Surya admits that he caught her, but now he really loves her. However, Ajay is forced to release Surya after his henchmen kidnapped Chitra. Eventually, Surya becomes a billionaire, and during the inauguration of his Business Bank reveals his thirst for power Ajay, further referring to the decline in crime after the recruitment of gangsters and expressing a desire to help those in need. Surya also helps Laal become mayor of Mumbai by defeating Arun Gohle, who was endorsed and then killed by Jaidev after Arun uncovered the Adjay scam. Learning that Jaidev plans to kill Chitra and Ajaya, Surya rushes to their home, but does not save Ajay, who tells him to kill Jadev in the last minutes of life. Surya then tells Chitra that he was an American Indian whose parents were deceived and killed by Jaideev. As a child, Surya tried to enlist the help of the police, but without finding any, he publicly stabbed and shot Jaidev. Back to his indignation, Surya meets the guru Govinda Patel, the head of the opposition party through Laal, and offers him ₹350 billion on the campaign trail along with a promise to make him the next Prime Minister of India. Surya spends millions on the country's constituency and also uncovers Jaydev's illegal affairs, making him unable to vote. The vengeful Jajdev kidnaps Chitra, and Surya goes to save her. Jaidev beats him and reveals that he received public sympathy because of Suria's attack as a child and managed to become an MLA. However, Surya gets into a fight with Jaidev's henchmen and leaves them all dead, except for the one who holds Chitra under the knife. Jaidev agrees to release Chitra if Surya dies. Surya shot himself, then shot both Jadev and the henchman. Chitra his love for Surya, and Guru Govind Patel wins the election. During his recovery at the hospital, Surya sends a message to the public. He signed Mahesh Babu as the main character who worked with Jagannad in the past for Pokiri (2006). Venkat added that the film will be shot under the banner of R. R. Movie Makers. Jagannad completed the final draft of the film's script on July 25, 2011 during his time in Bangkok, adding that he was inspired by Ram Gopal Varma. He said that in a week's time, pre-handout work would begin in Hyderabad. The film was officially launched on August 15, 2011 with a small puja ceremony held in Hyderabad. Shyam K. Naidoo and S. Taman were confirmed as the film's cameraman and music director respectively. Casting Hruti Haasan (above) was initially considered for the lead female role, but Kajal Aggarwal (bottom) was eventually engaged to the role. Mahesh received the film script during a dubbing for Dookudu (2011), but because of this commitment, it took 10 days to finish reading the script. He said in an interview that he can keep consistency in character only because of fewer working days. Jagan nader did not abandon Brahmanandam and Ali because of Mahesh's specific characterization; he added that Mahesh's voice had changed from his performance in Pokiri. Mahesh also persuaded Jagannad to quit smoking, as he himself tried to give up after smoker's chain. Shruti Haasan was originally considered for the lead female role after her performance in her debut film Telugu, Anaganaga O Dheerudu (2011). However, Kajal Aggarwal was signed as the women's lead at the end of May 2011, marking her first collaboration with Mahesh and Jagannad respectively. She was paid ₹₹ $10 million for the film. Jagan nader confirmed reports that Mahesh and Aggarwal had kissed in the film, adding that he had kept them after Mahesh's wife, Namrat Schirodkar, endorsed him. It was reportedly Mahesh's first on-screen kiss. Aggarwal explained that he was not supposed to be sensual, but had to portray a conflict between the two characters, and added that it was filmed aesthetically by Jagannad. Prakash Raj, Nassar, Sayaji Sinde, Dharmawarapu Subramanyama, Brahmaji and Bandla Ganesh were cast in key supporting roles. Gansika Motwani was rumored to have been part of the film's cast at the end of August 2011, but was not immediately confirmed. In mid-October 2011, Hansika reportedly agreed to perform the subject number in the film.
