THROWIN’ BO’S • Senior Bo Pieper (Roseville, Minnesota) found the back of the net against BU to give the Bobcats a 2-1 lead. Pieper’s goal was his first of the season, and 22nd of his career. • Pieper has also logged a lot of game-time, as he played in his 123rd career game on Saturday, Oct. 14, which ranks second to Landon Smith among active NCAA Division I men’s ice hockey student-athletes. It is also the second- longest active career games-played streak. • Sunday’s loss to Boston University was the first game in which Pieper had scored a goal in that Quinnipiac had lost. Prior to the game against the No. 2 Terriers, Quinnipiac was 19-0-1 in games in which he scored.

MY FAVORITE MARTIN • Coming off a career season in 2016-17 in which he ranked second in goals (11) and points (27) among all Bobcats, junior Craig Martin (Trail, British Columbia) picked up his first point of the year on Whelan’s goal against BU to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. • Last season, Quinnipiac was 14-3-0 when Martin registered a point, and 9-1-0 when he had an assist.

NOT SHORT(RIDGE) ON TALENT • Sophomore netminder Andrew Shortridge picked up his first win of the season against Vermont, turning back 22 of UVM’s 24 shots-on-goal for the victory. • For the year, Shortridge is 1-0-1 with a .940 save percent- age and a 1.41 goals-against average.
