Now in their 39th season at the now Blue Bell Park, the Maroon and White are 1,020-331-4 at the facility., 2016 SEC TOURNAMENT The 2016 SEC Baseball Tournament is scheduled for May 24-29 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Ala., a suburb of Birmingham. The tournament, being held in Hoover for the 19th consecutive year. For the four consecutive year, the tournament will be a 12-team field. The regular-season division winners will claim the top two seeds and the next 10 teams by conference winning percentage, regardless of division will claim the remaining berths in the tournament. The 5-12 teams will play a single-elimination opening round on May 19, followed by a double-elimination format until the semifinals, when the format will revert to single elimination through the championship game. CLOSING NOTES The Aggies return three pitchers who logged five or more saves in 2015, including MARK ECKER, RYAN HENDRIX and ANDREW VINSON. Ecker and Hendrix were both named to the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List. Ecker led the Aggies with eight saves in 2015, posting a 1-2 record with a 2.45 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 33.0 innings. Hendrix went 6-4 with five saves, a 3.66 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 59.0 innings. Out of the bullpen, Hendrix went 5-2 with a 0.73 ERA and a .194 opponent batting average. Vinson was 5-2 with five saves and 64 strikeouts in 63.2 innings last season. “Vinny” logged a 4-1 record with a 2.04 ERA and 55 strikeouts over 53.0 innings of relief as a junior. For his career he has seven saves and ranks fifth on A&M’s career list with 83 appearances. BULLPEN NOTES The Aggies bullpen has been stellar in 2016. The relievers have one save and a 0.82 ERA on the year, yielding one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out 13 in 11.0 innings. Texas A&M’s bullpen owns a 0.82 WHIP and 13.00-to-1 -to-walk ratio and their holding the opponent to a .200 batting average.
