The methods of this research included a historical study of the career of Coach Lou Carnesecca and his professional style. The results of this study indicate that there are learning takeaways for professionals and executives that go beyond basketball including his charismatic and endearing approach, his understanding and love for his employer and his distinct professional philosophy. The conclusions of this study illustrate that professionals, beyond basketball, can learn valuable professional lessons from this quintessential coach. In addition, this research relates to the world of sports in that often times the human characteristics behind a coach can define his / her brand in the long term.
