Bedroom and Shower Room
You will have your own private bedroom, toilet and shower.
You can make your bedroom into your own space where you can be comfortable.
You can bring your own furniture if you want.
You can choose how you want your room decorated.
It is your private space and you are in charge of it. If you need help, we can support you with cleaning and changing your bedding.
Bathroom
If you like to have a bath, there is a bathroom near your bedroom.

Dining Room with kitchen and Lounge
You can have your meals in the Dining Room.
You can use the kitchen area to make drinks or snacks or make your own lunch.
You can relax in the lounge area and watch your
favourite programmes.
Library and Lounge
The Library is a relaxing quiet lounge space where you can go to read books or magazines.
Relax on the comfortable sofa or lounge chairs.

If your visitors live far away, we can help arrange somewhere to stay nearby while they visit.

The Local Area
Deanston
Deanston House is in a small village called Deanston.
Deanston is a lovely area for walks.
It has a small village shop that is also a post office.
Doune
The village of Doune is a 5–10 minute walk from
Deanston House.
Doune is a great place for walking and has a nature reserve and a castle to visit.
The main street has shops, cafés, hairdressers
and a bank. It also has a small Co-op for
shopping.
The Doctors and Pharmacy are in Doune.
Also close by car or public bus are Callander and Stirling

Care and Support …
The Staff Team
All our team are here to help and support you. We want you to have the right support for you.
Nurses are always on duty. The nurses will make sure
you are safe, healthy, and getting supported in the best way for you.
Support Workers will follow your person-centred plans to make sure your support needs are met and you are safe and happy.
Your Named Nurse and Keyworker will help coordinate your care and support while you stay here.
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will help you
improve skills and confidence in doing things or learn
new skills.
The Clinical Psychologist likes to listen, talk and spend
time with Service Users. He will support you to find things that make you happy and help you with things
you may find upsetting.
The Kitchen Team will learn about what foods you like, any allergies or any dietary needs and provide good
healthy home cooked meals each day.
Maintenance and Cleaning Staff will help with
keeping Deanston House safe and clean.

Your Support Plans
Your Support Plans are all about you, what you like, what support you need and your goals.
We want you to be fully involved in decisions about your care and support
We want to help you achieve your goals
We will support you to develop your independence by learning daily living skills.
We communication in your preferred way, whilst helping you to develop your communication skills.
If you experience distress, we will support you in a respectful way, keeping you and others safe.
We will assess your health needs and provide you with the support required to be healthy.

Safety and Security …
Personal Belongings
You will have your own key for your bedroom so you can lock your own door and keep your belongings
safe.
If you have belongings that are of high value to you, you may want to think about having insurance, in
case of accidental damage or loss.
Personal Money
If you look after your own money, you will have a safe place in your room to keep it.
If you need help with your money, we can keep it in a safe.
CCTV. Cameras
We have cameras outside of the building at Deanston House.
The cameras are there to put off people we do not know trying to come into the building.

Having your say …
Advocacy
We encourage self-advocacy and choice. We have Service User Meetings so you can let us know your views and help make Deanston House a great place to live.
You can meet with an independent Advocacy worker to talk about living here and the support you need.
Planning and Review Meetings
You can be involved in all your planning and review meetings. Your Advocacy Worker and Keyworkers can support you with this.
Concerns and Complaints
If you are unhappy about something, we want to help
solve the problem as soon as possible.
You can talk to any member of the team at Deanston House.
