Two years later, her mother, Sharon, married Jerry Twain, a full-blooded Ojibwa Indian, who adopted Shania and her older sister. The family moved to Timmins, a gold-mining town in the remote wilderness of northern Ontario. Her father logged timber and mined, but work was seasonal. Academy Award-winning actor Sean Penn saw the video and wanted to direct Twain's next music video. The first video also attracted the attention of rock music producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange who began working with Twain.
